"Outsmart anyone you can't beat, and beat anyone you can't outsmart." This is a perfect example. In his lore he out smarts his tribe, he clever evades Lissandra's magic, and he uses his wit to keep his life and gain a powerful ally.

His other in game quotes show this to an extent, but I just love this part of Trundle. A Trundle who was all about bashing things in and was as dumb as a stump along with it would be much more boring.

League really lacks compelling character archetypes. I mean like you can only pull the same 4 archetypes a handful of times before it gets boring. It's nice to see Riot create a champion like Trundle now and then who defies their common cliche designs.

I think that's pretty funny (in a good way) that Trundle's gameplay is all about "I will bash you with that big thing". It's pretty cool to see troll who outsmartes other presumably not-bright-minded trolls and then just bashes all that he can reach in game. I see it more as cool theme :)
