The image on top is the brand new irelia splash teaser leaked today during the EU LCS, the bottom is her current base splash. Now I know we don't have more than this small piece of the splash to base assumptions off of, but damn it that looks 10x better already. Her hair isn't pitch gray anymore, her face doesn't seem as awkward, and...she seems agressive, like her playstyle. Maybe I'm rushing this and my opinion sucks, but frankly, it's been a year (Need clarification) since we saw the first pic for this splash, and to be honest, if it's been done for about this long, what are we waiting for? If you wanna get this splash out as soon as possible, upvote the thread. But damn it, I'll be sad if it doesn't show in 5.15/5.16.

Edit: I know that the image was teased a year ago at Worlds, I'm saying it was teased **AGAIN **just yesterday.

I'd be really sad if she gets Tristana'd, where she has this awesome splash but her VU ends up looking nothing like it so they scrap the splash and make a different one...

Why is that bad, you get two awesome detailed splash arts that way, most champions dont get that luxury.

I guess you're right, it depends how the splash art would compare, I just liked the old updated tristana splash more than her current one

That was just a bridgeway; they designed the new model first, the splash was just a gap filler

One thing I've always disliked about Irelia's model is it looks like she mixed up her shampoo with her hairspray. I know the designers have enough experience now to make her hair have a more natural, flowing look.

This picture has been around since early into the year, unfortunately nothing has happened and I doubt we are going to see it in the game up until her update or if we will see the whole splash at all.

That was the old image, they used THIS image today at the beginning of LCS. The other image is more of a close in:

I honestly can't It was a LONG ass time ago. It might be as far back as early summer split of last year, or maybe early spring split of this year. Idk, I don't watch NA anymore, considering it's entirely irrelevant in terms of international play.

People don't get too hyped up. Her chin is hidden behind her shoulder pad. Which means her ingame face probably looks like Taric's.

That's what I'm afraid of most. This splash art was revealed months ago. Who know how much they've changed it for the worse since then. Ok Riot, I know you don't want to make sexy ladies anymore, but please leave the pre-established champs alone.

Its more about diversity and I think irelias face in that splash art makes her look quite different from the others.

They weren't trying to make Fiora unsexy for the sake of being unsexy. They were trying a new direction with her theme and character from a visual standpoint the same way they did with Gangplank. The backlash ended up being so bad they had to change it though, but no harm done.

Yeah, but here's the issue, she'll get a new model.... Might be great, might be Fiora. Not sure I want to deal with buying skins and then having the content I bought altered w/ no option to keep what I payed for, or to be refunded.

It's cool that they're improving the appearance of Irelias splash, but… it would be nice if they could fix Fioras face. She looks like Sarah Jessica Parker now.

Yep, she is up for a Gameplay and Visual Update!

Has been a long time since we have heard anything about Irelia - mainly being that her VU depends on when her new, reworked kit is ready and wont be released prior to that, it also got noted that its most likely "still far off" though months have passed since then obviously.

Besides, Anivia was shown off 8 months ago at Worlds and only just got hers about 2 patches ago... so just give it some time. They have many things to work on and are trying to make the base splashes of the champions the best they can be, especially on these older champs.

Once thing that definitely needs fixed is Shadow Evelynn - All her other splash art looks good, but it's just... odd. And Poppy, her facial expression bothers me - and overall it isn't that bad. I just feel it doesn't really fit in with the rest. Irelia's default needs fixed too though, for sure.

Ugh, but now shes in another unhumanly possible pose that focuses too much on angles. I still like it. Not that much in a rush for it. I liked her Gray hair. It seperated her from all the Brunettes and Blondes in the game.
