@Riot. Is The new Baron supposed to be connected to the Void?

just throwing an idea out there for the sake of discussion, but what if below the ground there is a portal to the void like the new item, but Baron can't fit his whole body through?

Just dippin' his lil' tail in there, relaxing? I don't think he's stuck in a portal though, he moves around when he spawns. But sure, maybe there's a dark gateway down there!

Interestingly, on the german forums, Riot Kengen said during the Rek'Sai AMA that Nashor is actually a void creature.

That sounds about right, given how he looks now.

Honestly, I think that's better than the idea of Nashor being a golem ala the old lore.

Not sure if I read the same thing, but saw a red state the Baron in a list of void creatures. I was thinking he just really had to be anyway, especially with how much they're pushing the -If It's A Purple Monster It's From The Void- idea. Except Skarner. He's just purple for whatever reason.

That is indeed interesting(a bit sad in that i was happy that baron was at least one monster native to runeterra,but well we still have the other jungle monsters.....i hope).

He might've been a remainder from the previous conflict between Runeterra and the void even in his old lore. He was merely described as ruler of the serpentine river and powerful enough to make armies of Demacia and Noxus steer clear from him. He left when Summoners Rift was created on the Serpentine River and the one you see in-game is merely a construct created based on myths, rumors and a molted scale.

He is kind of maggot-coloured. I always rationalized it like how larvae often have different colours than the adult insect. In the event of a VU I think they should think it through a bit though, and make it more obvious if they keep him that way.
