Strongest Beings in the League Universe

I recently played a game as Tryndamere against Yorick, and the yorick complained that "Tryndamere's Q doesn't make sense lore-wise". So I thought about this a bit, and came to the conclusion that quite a bit of champions have in game abilities that make no sense in relation to their lore, such as Ashe's vision bird, Sivir's E, Naut's water-summoning E, etc. abilities that while not completely disconnected from the lore, just don't make much sense in the Summoner's Rift world (From where does Skarner shoot his jell-o?). After some more thought, I eventually reached the point of trying to gauge champion's strength in the lore compared to the game. While the strongest champion in the game right now is probably Karthus or ziggs if we go purely by damage dealt charts, this doesn't make much sense lore-wise. Karthus is a strong mage, but some beings are literal gods and demi-gods, such as Aurelion Sol, which controls the stars and what not. Ziggs is just a weird yordle scientist, how can he even compare to supreme beings like Aatrox or Xerath? I reached the conclusion that lore-wise the strongest champions are either those who adhere to certain gods (Illaoi, Leona, Diana, Pantheon, etc.), or those who are literal super beings (Xerath, Nasus and Renekton, Kindred, Bard, Aurelion Sol, etc.). from this stems the question: which god/being is stronger? So we have: Nagakbourous (Illaoi) Sun Being (Leona) Moon Being (Diana) War Being (Pantheon) Taric's Protective Powers of Love and Seduction Vel'koz (Study Their Entrails, Consume And Learn) <Possibly the Strongest of the mages, although he is a void-born Xerath Nasus, Renekton (Pretty much equal with a slight edge to Nasus) Aurelion Sol <The only "God" Champion Brand <Possibly strongest of the mages, hard to judge by his lore Cho'Gath (Super Void Monster Deluxe) Kog'Maw (The Monster That Will Consume The World Edition) The Entity that summoned Malzahar to the Desert MordeKaiser Jax (He beats up gods with a lamp on a daily basis) Bard Kindred Anivia Kayle and Morgana (Are Angels relatively strong or weak to the gods of Runeterra?) Aatrox

My opinion is the Sun being, Nagakbourous, the War being, Xerath, Brand or Vel'koz, with Aurelion Sol, Bard and Kindred as runner ups, and Kog'Maw, Cho'Gath, Moon being, Taric's God thingy, And whatever summoned Malzahar as third place. Honorable mentions to Kayle & Morgana, as it is currently unclear what power level they are on.

Would love to hear your opinions!

Depends on what you're looking for.

While the power of Nagakabouros is something we've seen we don't know what Nagakabouros even is, only a religious interpretation of such.

Bard and Aurelion Sol stack up as being among the most powerful entities in the universe, but they'll still meet Kindred at some point.

The Aspects of Targon are incomprehensible for mortal beings but Aurelion Sol's bio implies that even they can die.

And no one else really holds a candle to that.

So between Nagakabouros, Aurelion Sol, Bard, Kindred and the Aspects of Targon whose to say really?

I'm just gonna stick with Bard because Bard is Bard.

I think I remember a rioter (wanna say waarghobo) mention that Nagakabouros is far beyond Sol, so it seems to be the reigning champ in power to me. But of the actual champions, Sol and Bard seem pretty indisputably the most influentially powerful, even if, theoretically, someone like Xerath may have more firepower than Bard, Bard would just never be in a position to let Xerath nuke him.

there's alot of champions that would be WAY WAY WAY different if they were actually like they were in the lore.

I don't actually think Vel'Koz is a mage in lore

I think he's just a weird, yet incredibly powerful lifeform who's biology is capable of generating plasma in the form of lazers

Also I don't think Brand is the most powerful mage, granted his extremely volatile nature makes him very dangerous but he'd be nowhere near the power level of the likes of Xerath or Ryze and maybe even Syndra

I'd like to put forward my suggestion for Lissandra here, as she is often overlooked for lists like these for several reasons:

  1. She is possibly one of the oldest terrestrial mages in league (I think Ryze and Anivia are the only ones who beat her) as she was alive before Xeraths ascension and the fall of Shurima

  2. She only knows one type of magic (Ice Manipulation and Ice Corruption) But she knows the absolute shit out of it she is the epitome of a perfect Dark Ice mage to the point that even Anivia is wary of her powers

  3. It is highly suggested that Lissandra imprisoned Brand (The Spirit) in the true ice prison although we don't know the details of this such as was it a one sided victory, a bloody battle or a sneak attack

I think Lissandra is not given the credit she deserves as to just how strong and intelligent she actually is

such as Ashe's vision bird.

Is the spirit of Avarosa, in the Lore a Hawk guide her toward the bow.

Pretty sure that Bard is the most powerfull of all... not sure if the strongest in terms of strengh, but id he doesnt do his job, everybody disapears.

The targonian aspects are powerful spirits, but they aren't gods and they use Aurelion like some kind of super weapon,so they themselves are certainly weaker than Aurelion sol(why else would they bother enslaving him,if they surpass him anyway?)

Aatrox is a powerful being, but definetly not someone who could compete with Aurelion sol.

Nagakaborous seems to be the most powerful being,as I remember that a rioter said that she is on an entire different level than aurelion sol.

Though who knows if nagakaborous has to fear kindred or not.

A big mention is Ryze. If you read his lore, you see he is carrying a few world runes with the ability to destroy everything in existence. Hence his quote "in an instant, all could be gone." While his one fight scene with his friend in the frejilord was not described as impressive, Ryze carries an INCREDIBLE amount of power and could potentially delete runeterra.

I think I remeber a rioter saying something about naga it was about theory of relativity and how aurelion can see it and how naga can see it or something...

what about the ones that gave lissandra her powers... I thought they were extremely powerful as well

Aurelion Sol, the Ascended, some Void and Shadow Isle champs are all some of the most powerful champs. There's also things like Kindred, Brand, Tahm Kench, Bard, Aatrox and maybe a few others.

Necrit came out with this video recently, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OjDhcRSoj8w , it has an interesting theory about the true Gods of the Universe and Aurelion sol, i definitely recommend watching this and his other videos

Aurelion Sol is by far the most powerful champion, nothing else comes close, especially not Kindred who is completely powerless and weaker than Teemo.

some degenerate5/15/2017, 4:43:03 AM1 votes

Aurelion Sol, Bard and Kindred.

None of the other champions come remotely close. Those three are on their own power tier.

DemonRyu9/10/2017, 1:31:59 PM1 votes

if you want to count skins in , then Nightbringer yasuo > Dawnbringer riven > darkstar thresh are the strongest in existence no doubt

Volibear Boss5/14/2017, 4:06:03 PM1 votes

Aurelion sol is literally bigger than stars lore wise, none can top this.

Placentas5/14/2017, 4:09:57 PM1 votes

I would say Aurelion or Bard.

Their power is so beyond thought or reason.

I think we also dont know Bards true form? I think what we see is just an interpretation of Bard when he is visiting Runeterra.
