Remembering my first day in League.

This is a tale of my first recollections of League of Legends approximately 3 years ago. All rights reserved.

I logged in for the first time and the screen asks me if I am a noob and I politely say "yes, I don't even.." next thing I know I'm in a tutorial with Ashe.. Except I'm a noob and have no clue what champions are, let alone their names; therefore, I simply called her "Ice Arrow Lady." I did this same naming method with all other champs such as: Tree Guy, Monkey Guy, Spider-Girl, Robot Guy, Fish Dude, Joker-Looking-Dude, etc... Anyway, Upon completing the tutorial, I felt that I understood the game enough to the point where I was ready to get into the REAL action. 5 minutes later I found myself in a bot game with only bots on my team and only bots on the other team. I played the only champion I had any experience with (i.e Ice Arrow Lady from the tutorial). I raced and made my way up a lane with the toughest looking bot I could find. There I waited in the bush, with no items or potions because I was the most bad-ass noob in town. As soon as the minions came, I farmed the crap out of them- I felt like I knew what I was doing because I saw my friend play the moba mini-game of Starcraft once, so I knew all about what I was supposed to do. Many times I came close to killing the enemy bots but never did; and while I held my own in lane- every other lane would lose eventually and I lost several games until one game the bots had an evil secret meeting and decided "this kid isn't giving up, I think it's time we show him how cruel the moba world can be. Huehuehuehue!!!" The evil bots all disappeared from lane, killed baron, grouped up, tower dove, bent me over and reamed me with their baron buffed needlessly large rods. I cried twice that day, almost giving up League forever. When I think back on it now... I always give a deep nostalgic sigh and think to myself "I wish my team were half as good as those evil bots."

THE END.

My first day in league I had fun. Now I spend a great deal of time laughing as people try to tell me I'm not supposed to have fun, especially in Ranked.

I called Tryndamere "Trindle" for the longest time. It confused people if there was also a trundle in the game.

"Oh god, it's Trindle!!" "You mean Trundle??" "WHO'S TRUNDLE, I MEAN TRINDLE"

Also, I started playing at the beginning of season 5, where there where ~124 champs. Pretty hard for a noob to remember all of them. And saying that guy isn't the most effective way to describe people. I think the first time i saw or even heard of Aatrox was when i was like level 24 or something. All i could think to myself was, "THERE ARE MORE PEOPLE IN THIS GAME!!!!"

My first game of League I went in with Kassadin I believe...or maybe it was Mordekaiser? Either way, I went mid lane and fed the Annie Bot. The bot lane wasn't doing any better either, MF Bot was a bitch. Our Mundo was flaming but I didn't really notice at the time because I didn't even know how to use chat or even know what a "Noob" was. Anyway, he solo'd Baron and carried a bot game essentially. Also, since we're on the topic of mistaken champion identity, I legit didn't realize Taric was a Gem Knight and not an Ice Knight till like, a year after.

My first game in league I went full AP Garen. I liked my ult, and wanted it to deal more damage. My next game several games I kept going trinity force Warwick (as trinity force, being the most expensive item, is clearly the very best item in the game. Build as many TFs as possible).
