GG "EZ" = Unsportsmanlike

I know that this post is going to be highly unpopular, because the majority of you players are guilty of saying that phrase "gg ez", "ez", "ez pz". First off, if you plan on commenting "sounds like a personal problem" or some irrelevant garbage like that, then gtfo. I make a valid claim and if you can't make a valid response as to why I'm wrong then don't bother.

Saying "good game, easy" is an oxymoron for sportsmanlike qualities. I'll report my own team, or the other team regardless. Not because I'm uptight, but because it's such douchey thing to say. Especially winning after a 60-70 minute game; what was so "easy"? The game took long so obviously both teams were really close. But lets say you beat down the Nexus in under 20 minutes. The other team obviously knows they got demolished, and saying "easy" is like rubbing dirt in the wound. Instead of being a douche, just say "gg wp" or something along those lines. To me that seems far more sportsman like knowing that you did better, but still encouraging the other team.

I would encourage all summoners to stop saying "gg ez", and just say "gg wp".

It's the same with flashing masteries, it's often the person doing worst on the team that does it. It's typical deflecting/compensating behavior. They are feeling self-conscious about playing bad or not playing as well as the rest of the team and so they put up airs to try to fit in. Also they're not really used to winning, so when they finally do they have to make a big fuss about it since they know they won't be experiencing that again anytime soon.

It's quite cute in a way.

If you beat someone in a chess tournament and said to his face, "that was an easy win," would you consider that acceptable behavior?

Most people say "no, that is not acceptable behavior". It is the same in LoL; saying "ez" at the end is the same as the preceeding example, and therefore falls under "unsportsmanlike behavior".

I don't know why people think behind hidden behind the internet makes it ok to be rude to other people.

Freedom of speech is not what you are thinking. It is the freedom to voice your opinions with out restraint/censorship from the government. :P So no, this is not taking that away at all.

I agree. I'd even go so far as to say a lot of "gg"'s are toxic too. Nothing was good about the game where my team got a total of 12 kills vs. 56 deaths. It's not fun to say this at the end of the game in most cases. If it really was a good game. Fine. But I don't actually think most games fall into this category.

Repetitive inflammatory behavior is reviewed and legit reports would be looked over but I don't know if it's enough in and of itself to get a punishment.

It's still sportsmanlike to say "gg" when a game is finished, even if it was an absolute stomp. "gg" is a sign of respect, which is why "gg ez" completely ruins the point of it.

No, it's not sportsman at all to tell someone it's a good game when it absolutely wasn't. Saying it when the game was essentially a 2v5 or when there was an intentional feeder or when there was someone extremely toxic on your team makes the saying completely untrue and extremely rude. It's the equivalent of gg ez at that point. And for those people who just say gg or gl hf every game and you think that would mess them up, I'd say if you don't mean what you're saying, don't say it.

Simply put, anything can be toxic given the right circumstances and telling someone "good game" when you beat their fucking skulls in because of toxicity, or afk's or even just being much better is toxic. It's rude. It's not genuine.

Here's why I disagree: If you were in a face-to-face team sport, and your team beat the skulls in of your opponents, it would almost be considered classless to not shake their hands afterward. Likewise, the losing team would be expected to meet this sportsmanship. If someone is toxic in game to the enemy team (which they shouldn't be anyways), then yeah, it's gonna look toxic when they say "gg" at the end of a one-sided game. However, I see "gg" as more of a handshake at the end of a game, whether it's true or not, and to not say it (imo) would be unsportsmanlike. Any variant though, such as "GG", "ggez" or my personal least favorite, "gee gee", become extremely toxic and in those cases I would certainly agree with you.

But my overall point is, if you can't handle someone respectfully saying "gg" at the end of a heavily one-sided game, it isn't the fault of the person saying it, and they shouldn't be considered toxic for saying it.

In good sportsmanship sure. But I'm not talking about that. What if you're playing baseball and the reason you lose is because the entire outfield and the 2nd baseman left to grab a beer in the 2nd inning and never came back? Is it a good game then? What if you're playing soccer and one guy on your team scores 5 goals for the other team and yells "HAHAHA TOUCHDOWN!" as he does it... is that a good game? What if you you're playing basketball and two of your team mates literally drool on themselves and drop the ball when you pass it to them? Good game right? You'd expect that team to go up to you and go "Good game!"

NO.

It's not fucking sincere. It's a fucking mockery of your team at that point and horrifically toxic. Whether it's gg, gg ez, or hahahahaha you fucking scrubs... it's the same shit.

Or must everyone be subject to poor sportsmanship because some people decided to essentially play a different game? What you are referring to is if the winning team is toxic about how they're winning, in which case I agree. But I'm referring to sportsmanlike people (rare though they are) saying good game to people who should understand that it's a sign of good sportsmanship, even in the case that the game clearly was not "good".

List is endless. But calling a game "good" when it's by definition not a good game... and I'm not talking about it just being a game. It's a game, there's a winner, and a loser. But "good" is a term i used when I think it was good for both teams.

I honestly feel like some of those you listed are quite toxic in themselves, particularly as they negatively refer to a particular player. Probably a lot of people would consider it arrogant to say the 5th and will probably mark you as incredibly toxic. Apologizing for a game I think is questionable, though I won't call it directly toxic. What I will say is directing something at a particular player, maybe "gg (player who did good) you did well" or "wp (previously mentioned player)." As much as I understand where someone comes from in pointing out someone who played poorly (whether intentionally or otherwise), it still comes across as being quite toxic and honestly might be punishable.

As it is, I still think "gg" is more appropriate to say or to (maybe) stay silent, because if you lose as hard as we're talking about, you're probably so tilted that just about anything would sound toxic.

I would say you are correct in some sc2 games where gg is kind of a sign where "lawl gg gtfo I win and you should have surrendered earlier", in league I guess it's more like a handshake, "a game has ended- we played it together/against. bye" if I'm not wrong- I am sorry you've been feeling this way about gg. I never mean it that way when I say it, I say it first when I'm on the losing end too when a game is ending- but I do see your point since it 'is' what it meant back in the days. I don't know if it still does. We all should really come up with something better to say in order to be respectful.

I have been saying ggez, ezpz, zzzzzzzzzzzz, was that coop vs ai? Etc before it was cool. Absolutely no punishment ever. Stop spreading misinformation about what is punishable and what isn't.

And before you say "well maybe you never got reported for it". I have been told by countless cucks that they were reporting me for it. Nothing has happened and won't lol

sometimes i don't even say GG, cause the losing team doesn't appreciate it either, a WP is good enough, saying GG might not be well received.

Was playing on my smurf that doesn't even have level 30 or full runes yet. Enemy team had a gold ranked riven that got fed from a player that is still learning how to play. Mid laner on my team was also afk. Enemy riven says "gg ez" feelsbadman i hate riven players
