Damn, my girl use to poison herself in order to bring up her resistances.

That's terrifying... yet intriguing...

I wish it was a little bit longer though. I wanted more than just a polished up version of her previous lore.

"the wily General Du Couteau pushed her to learn the way of the blade; to cut away the empire’s enemies not with reckless brutality, but deadly precision. He was a harsh teacher with many pupils, and notoriously difficult to impress."

The thing that bothered me with this part is that in the past lores she always CHOSE the path of being an assassin. That she had many choices opened to her and she chose to be an assassin.

I'm sure you can infer that she partly chose to be an assassin. Depends on how you read it I guess, if you see her Father's push as either a gentle nudge or a forceful decision. It just seems strange that they're presenting Noxus as a place of opportunity and choice, and yet the poster child for the city is being "pushed" into her decisions. It almost feels like the typical "parent living through their child" trope.

I mean of course, Katarina definitely admires her father, so I think either way she would have ended up where she is now. I think I might just be hung up on the word "pushed".

What do y'all think?

Well, I think it's due to who they favor the most. Cass favored her mother with how she interacts with people. You could infer that if Cass went up to her mother and bonded with her, the mother would indeed teach her.

As for Katarina, I don't think the father FORCED as much as REINFORCED. Katarina, his daughter, showed interest in the craft. Well then, if you wanna do it, you have to do it right. And let's face it, in their society, if both of them want to show strength, this is the only way. He's the greatest blade master. Failing to teach her his art or having her be half-assed will be him failing and showing weakness as a father and an assassin.

What bugs me is the Du Couteau family used to be about Family. They almost cared more about their House and family more then Noxus itself. In the whole "Even if Noxus burns to the ground, House Du Couteau will survive, it will be strong." kinda thing, and that made me really like the Du Couteau siblings + Talon. The new lore just... doesn't sit right with me truthfully.

The relationship between Kat and Marcus seems to have changed pretty drastically. I find it interesting that her new Lore doesn't seem to make mention of his disappearance/death, despite it being hinted at in Swain's VO.

I liked it a lot, but I would like to see her interact with Cassiopeia. Oddly enough for two siblings, I don't think we've ever seen them interact in the lore. Nothing about her rivalry with Garen either.

Oh my god.

The answer has been in front of us this whole time.

Katarina's the Dread Pirate Roberts...

Not the drug dealer one though, the Princess Bride one.
