I really needed something like that.

The retcon's existence is like a thorn right behind my eyes, forcing me to look and search and hope for a solution to a problem which is beyond me to have the tiniest chance of ever obtaining direct influence over.

The intense mental stress that careless creators who retcon or otherwise destroy what others have attatched themselves to in a greater capacity as fans, is at least mildly suppressable.

It just never goes away, the emptiness of needing to fix such problems, the hollowing of not even being heard when they smashed the dreams they presented to you.

I wish i'd never even heard of league.

just so i wouldn't have to take the stress of the retcon every single damn day.

I understand your plight, I really do. I still hope they can make something awesome, I really do (the potential of the new lore really shows). But the few and far between lore events next to the constantly updated eSports care makes me wonder sometimes, where their values lie or will they ever stick to their promise (at least to make some foundation for the lore) or just make us intentionally wait for the droplets of lore each time (never getting the full picture) while we continue to aimlessly play their game.

I sometimes despair about this awful thought, but i still have hopes for them for as long as I can take it (they still havent betrayed me like how Bioware did with ME3, that was just hearth shattering).

See, if they'd put out something within a month of the retcon giving us the new base premise of the setting. Then maybe they could've swayed me.

But they didn't.

It's been 7 months, and we don't know what kind of setting we're dealing with anymore.

They keep blaming technical difficulties, but a few months later they were able to have a pretty neat showcase page for the ~~Summoner's ~~Rift update. It's not like the delivery system for the kind of lore they needed to get out ASAP has been broken since then.

I think it's clear that the Lore team doesn't actually care about making lore, and just wants to make cool short stories about a character and then move on. Maybe reuse a character or a setting piece or location in another character's story.

If they're determined to tell their story solely through character focused short stories, then I'm just not gonna bother because there's better books for me to read.

The retcon failed because they didn't actually retcon anything, they just ripped setting elements out without telling a new story. Core setting elements. There's nothing left in runeterra which you can't find done better somewhere else.

Adding insult to injury, all the reasons they put forth for needing the retcon which weren't debunked by reading the JoJ. Haven't been shown yet.

It's good to know it helped. I'm pretty much in denial after the retcon and that's why I applied to factions. It's been pretty fun and they pump out more lore than Riot ever could.
