Riot, in your opinion, what is Karma's theme?

In this update of Ionians' lore, all champions (Riven, Yasuo, Lee Sin, Irelia) could retain a large part of their originial stories. When I say a large part, it's not saying that they have a consistent theme between the old and new bios. What I want to say is that they still hve very similar experience and personality in the old and new lore.

While coherence can be observed in their lore updates, it's not the case for Karma. The strong and intellectual Ionian leader who once fought against invaders as her own will, is now changed into a spirit who desire absolute peace without any justification in the story. This is a disempowerment to the strong and spiritual female leader.

Another point is that I am still not into the Riot's idea that "as long as we stick to theme of that champion, it's okay to change it to another person". But maybe you have a point. I agree some old lores are really shallow and keeping the theme + retconning the whole stories works well for them.

Even in the controversial Varus's update, we can see the theme is coherent to some extent in the old and new lore. Yet, when it comes to the Karma update, many players failed to find the similarity in her theme between the old and new lore.

Overwhelmingly negative comments can be found throughout the Boards and Reddit (e.g. https://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/8a5zwk/karmas_new_lore_is_awful/?st=JFORWWX7&sh=7c89f607). You can hardly find a comment saying he likes the bio change in this 1.8k upvoted thread on Reddit. This implies that most players do not understand the rationale behind this lore change or they are not convinced by this change, given the old and new lore is contradictive to some extent.

I sincerely hope that Riot can reconsider their decision on Karma's lore. Yet, I understand it is very unlikely for you to change anything. But at least you can share your thoughts with the community or provide some justifications regarding the new lore so that we can better understand.
