Karma Lore Update - Does the development of worldview mean destruction to the existing world?

The lore team just doesn't want to understand the old characters and lores, and suddenly changed those characters to a new one. Yes, the name "Karma" maybe something related to the whole buddism and Dalai Lama idea, but this is not who the Karma in League of Legends originally was. No authour would like to completely change one character to another, because this is not the original identity anymore.

I just can't understand why a team that does't even love and respect the existing characters and does't even want to understand the old lore can be the one to "develope" the worldview, the champions, and everything in this beautiful world. I don't even want to call it "develope", cause what they are doing are simply creating what they think the very shallow name "Karma" should be, instead of going deep and try to build connections between the true Karma (the character that we loved) and Ionia.

I am so disappointed that Riot did not take any advice after the Varus rework. I don't understand why do you have to destroy a world in order to develope one. Obviously development does not neccessarily mean destruction of others.

Extending the worldview and exploring the personality inside a existing champion will be a much better way to tell the stories of this world than completely throwing it away.

Riot should reconsider their direction, and should note that there are so many players who feel attached to the current world and the existing characters.

I am a hard core player since season 2 and I loved all the things that you have created. As soon as there was any release update of the lore and character, I woould look at them immediately and joyfully shared it to my friends (since in my country, English is not one of the major languages, I even translated everything for them back in the years when our server did not translate and release those pieces simultaneously with NA server). I was overjoyed when I heard Riot was going to built a much more connected universe. I could't wait to see how my beloved characters will be pulled together and interact woth each other.

But I couldn't have been more disappointed. Because what you are doing is not developing but erasing.

Last but not least, I came from the Taiwan server. I spent my time to create an NA account, level it up, just to post my opinions here. I really hope my voice, the voice of a 6-year fan, can be heard.

_*Edit: I really admire the effort that the story team has put in every new lore. They are great stories and great writing. But you are in the wrong direction because your initial goal is to develop instead of to erase the old and create anything whatever looks cool. _

Overall I can understand why Riot is retconning some of the old lore. They want every champion to have a unique and interesting story,which is understandable. And sometimes they need to retcon something from the old lore for this to be possible(the removal of the IoW being probably the biggest example)

Though in Karmas case I think the retcon was done because they wanted to give her a unique fantasy/theme,which is something that she is pretty much lacking compared to pretty much every other champion. I mean originally she was leagues fan-user and duality-champ,she wasn't really a good exploration of that theme,but it was at least something. With her rework riot tried to push the theme of "the enlightened one" onto karma,essentially making her LoLs buddha,which sounds like a cool idea in theory,however the initial approach was lackluster,she was essentially just a wise mage with green swirly powers.

The idea of Karma being someone who reincarnates time and time again and is able to communicate with her past lives is actually a pretty good way to really fill the theme of the enlightened one,but the execution was rather messy.

Overall I do however think that they should try to refrain from giant retcons,like the one they did with Varus,that is just too much of a character change in my opinion.
