I always wondered where did this pairing come from, so I'm just looking for some background.
I know she's a member of Demacia's Elite with Jarvan at the head, but that's all i know.
Because people are bad at shipping and don't ship the obvious, like J4 and Shyvana.

There appears to be a mutual respect between the two. Jarven not being what she expected, and him encouraging Quinn to follow her own judgment, as well as personally granting her a place amid the Demacian elite for her success.
There are hints of a love triangle between Jarvan-Shyvana-Quinn in the game and lore. Jarvan and Shyvana are probably closer, but her ability to change into a dragon makes her untrustworthy in the eyes of the Demacian people, and Jarvan being the future king needs to respect the public opinion. Quinn on the other hand, is a Demacian by birth, and this makes her a much more traditional choice for a relationship. Both are members of the Vanguard strictly for their unique abilities, but they both in a position to try and win Jarvan's heart.
Honestly I don't want Jarvan with anyone. Quinn is too good for him (plus valor would get jealous), and Shyvana... I don't know, she just doesn't seem like she'd be into Jarvan.
