So Ryze's Intro Paragraph's here, and it gives a bit of insight in to Runterra's origins...

What is made can be unmade.'' _ Widely considered one of the most adept sorcerers on Runeterra, Ryze is an ancient, hard-bitten archmage with an impossibly heavy burden to bear. Armed with a boundless constitution and a vast array of mystic knowledge, he spends his life searching for World Runes - fragments of the raw magic that once shaped the world from nothingness. He must retrieve these glyphs before they fall into the wrong hands, for though they were once used to create Runeterra, they also have the potential to destroy it.

So apparently the world was forged by an incredibly powerful magic and the remnants of said magic are known as World Runes. Said World Runes are also likely to be the runic power that defined the Rune Wars.

Thoughts people? I feel like we'll definetly get more with Ryze's full lore, but this is an interesting bit of information.

Ah, the World Runes, the creator did say. Remembering back from a year since today. The world since shifted from a point in time, when things had balanced yet weren't sublime.

I had assumed the world had awoken, a mechanic of sorts, when things were left broken. For the system of warring was left for disarray, the wisest of mages decided to play.

The world full of color with the space that it gained. But what of perhaps, the memory retained? The cycle continued and the field grew grim, the levels unchecked were approaching the brim.

Poetic might be the timing of fate, when resolution arrives to open the gate. As champions of a world that they defied, held power the giants forever have vied.

Alas, such events, a playground at best. but this I am certain I could never attest: The stars stir close for thrice imminent war, when worlds collide and clash fates once more.

Seems like Runterra might end up with an infinity stone like problem. If so I'd imagine Ryze would do more the collect and protect these World Runes. If Ryze had such powerful artifacts all located with himself it might make it easy on any more powerful adversary to kill him and take them. Unless Ryze has maybe Bard on speeddial.

From having those runes scattered and hidden to a single person having them I'd really rather have them hidden.

It's like he's saving the malefic villain from his ingenious plans of destroying the whole world, muahahah, some time and trouble honestly.

It would be interesting. Rito teased as much as the Rune Wars were still a thing in the current lore recently so it could be a segwey (idk how to spell this word)

Looking at a comparison of our universe to the Runeterra universe, I suppose this does answer one question. If Aurelion Sol has created all the stars but not the planets it was unknown just how planets came into being. In our Universe it is believed that the planets form from the same dust stars do and due to the same forces. However now we know that planets like Valoran are formed from runes of creation. This brings up more questions like "who wielded these runes first?"

However we can look at a few things about Aurelion Sol in a new light His stance towards magical words and how it just muddles it up In his flavor story he used caution as to not damage the planet too badly and seemed remorseful to have scarred it.

So we know Aurelion thinks little of magical runes, due to his dialogue, and also holds planetary life in contempt because of Targon. So why would he be remorseful about damaging the planet? I don't think it was because he was worried about being punished for it by Targon (or he wouldn't have melted Pantheon).

As one final set of questions, are all worlds in the Runeterra universe created with the runes of creation, or just the magical ones? How many planets are in Valorans solar system, and are planets common, uncommon, or very rare to find around stars in the Runeterra universe?

Just a heads-up to add to this particular post - Jaredan answered a question of mine about 'World Runes' on his ask.fm page:

My Question: Ryze's short lore on the PBE mentions world runes and offers a brief description. World runes and their importance was something Tryndamere hinted at 2 years ago but then was never spoken of again until now. How long has this idea been in development and will it become bigger than just about Ryze's

His Response: World Runes have been in our thoughts for a long time. They're central to Ryze's story, but they're not limited to it. I can't say any more than that. Sorry!

This bio reminds me of Roland Deschain's from the Dark Tower. Where's my gunslinger skin Rito!
