Kai'Sa's Role?

Before her reveal, everything was pointing towards her being a marksman, and while admittedly she is a ranged character, I was expecting her to fall into more of the adc role. However, after looking at her kit, she seems like she's more of a... everywhere champ. The comments for the abilities were encouraging a lot of roaming and hunting, making her intended role to seem to be jungle, but her high dueling power would also make her very effective in mid lane and top as well. I don't know about any of the scaling on her abilities yet, but from looking at her passive, she has 3 distinct routes she can go too (full ad, as/on-hit, and ap. Or a combination of all three?).

So ultimately my question is, what is her intended role?

She's a marksman. That doesn't mean she's forced into bot. I wouldn't be surprised if she's played everywhere but there.

I think she'd be a great roaming adc, who only does well off of early kills or snowballing into mid game after taking enemy towers. but I plan on playing her adc with a tanky cc support because of her passive, (Blitz, Thresh, Nautilus, Leona, Braum, Taric, Rakan, Tahm Kench, even Poppy maybe)

Depending on the scaling and cooldowns on her abilities i think a good core might be reaver guinsoos statikk boots

Her E true stealth is going to be brutal on a low cd

She is a new champion for people to make erm "Fan art" about her and her "Living armor". This can only lead one direction and we all know it, don't even lie. [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

Besides the fact that every clip from the teaser shows her either ganking or invading the jungle, I think her kit should be a good indicator she'll be a strong jungler intended or not:

-Strong early ganks. Gap close with her E and ult, strong dueling power, synergy with high cc laners.

-Good farming. Ranged chanps will always clear healthier and her Q is great for clearing camps. Great damage for buffs, but still strong enough to clear raptors/krugs/wolves early.

-Great map pressure. She will not lose many jungle matchups, since most junglers are melee and she has her E. Not to mention her Q and WR combo are great invade tools.

To me the biggest downside to her going adc is laning. She has no reliable escape from say Braum or Taric, and has no abilities to help her kite in teamfights (maybe her E, but usually ms buffs are for positioning not kiting). Her teamfighting is very similar to an assassin, as even described on her official champion page. Picking her adc would inhibit any teamfight the comp has by removing consistent damage.

well she is marked as a marksman but keeping in mind teemo is also a marksman and is a top champ, as a teemo/top main i actually want to test how she would be in top as most videos about here were not really about being an adc. she might end up being and all around champ so we gotta wait and see

Well she is designed to be a hyper carry,so I doubt that she is strong in the early game,so the Bot-lane is probably still her best lane.

The main role is a marksman, but I think she’s made to be able to try out different play styles. We’ll have to wait until the PBE comes up to see what she can do best.

IMO She’s very weak as an ADC... I played one game against Jhin and said “screw this, I’m playing her top.” Her range is atrocious... a champ with ANY early game presence can easily shut you out of farm with their reliable poke that you lack. Her Q is strong, but it can be hard to position for it against a ranged champion, as their autos outrange it. But top... oh boy, is she fun there. Urgot is a “marksman” who is meant to be played as a bruiser. But Kai’da is, as far as I can tell, very much more an assassin than an ADC. I just rush attack speed for the E bonus, and then you’re all set. Roam, get picks, dash to their back line in team fights and delete those true marksmen.
