I thought female yordles had blue skin

Poppy and Tristana both have fur.

Female yordles simply seem to have shorter fur and actual hair on top of their fur(like the one in the forge where morde appeared)

They always had short fur, just look at the splash art of Tristana closely

The female Yordles were originally a separate race called Meglings which is why they have different characteristics.
