A step in the right direction: Burning Tides

So as most of know by now the lore fans haven't exactly been pleased with Riot's work as of late, me included. So when I decided to check the new entry expecting to be disappointed I found myself quite surprised.

Characters This is where I think this story stood strongest, mostly for Gangplank. For the longest time Gangplank was just "that pirate who eats oranges", so to see Riot give him a more serious tone while keeping his character intact is really nice. Gangplank is displayed as a character who lacks mercy for his traitors, but is willing to reward his loyal team. Stern, but generous, I think Riot hit the nail on the head with him as a pirate archetype.

Graves and TF on the other hand I cannot say I like. There's nothing wrong with how they were portrayed, but it just felt a bit predictable with their interactions. Graves is hotheaded and unwilling to forgive, TF is snarky and won't admit he did a dick move. It was pretty much all to be expected. So hopefully in act II we get a bit more depth with them.

Bilgewater We still have a rather vague idea as to what this place is really. We've been left the impression this is just where various pirate factions live, but it doesn't really make sense why they would do such a thing when they could easily be hostile towards each other since they don't owe allegiance to each other.

My best theory regarding this area is that it's basically several islands rather far away from each other and each faction had claimed an island for themselves. It could explain why Graves had to swim into the warehouse. Although this whole impression was simply left because the never really portrayed the other factions of Bilgewater.

TLDR I look forward for more.
