[Universe] List of Updated Relations between Champions * /r/leagueoflegends

I make a list from the new released Universe website, and from the existing game info website.

When making the list, I have several new findings:

  1. It seems that all related champions are two ways related, which is different from the old system, where Ekko is friend with Jinx, while Jinx is not friend with Ekko. Except the relation between Veigar and Kled. Veigar is related to Kled, and Kled is related to no one. I don't know if this is a mistake or I am missing some other one way relationship here.

  2. Champions can no longer friend with themselves; They cannot build rivalry on groups either. Dr. Mundo and Kindred are descripted as their only friend in the old system. Kled used to hate all the champions and treat his pet as the only friend, while Tahm Kench wanted to hunt all the yordle down...

  3. Janna and Ekko are related now.

  4. Warwick and Soraka are no longer related, which means, the heart-stealing story is abandoned by Riot.

  5. Twitch is only related to Zac, and Zac is only related to Twitch. They are a dirty couple living in the sewerage. Romantic!

  6. I have no idea why TF is connected to Evelynn. Am I missing anything? Or they take the Tango thing as a lore-wise relationship?

  7. Brand are now connected to a branch of champions from Shurima and Freljord. The Freljord part doesn't surprise me as the fire nation always attacks. What surprised me is the Shurima part. With existing lore, I find no way to put Brand into Shurima, maybe new lore on Brand is coming. Updated: Brand were the living fire in "Xerath had arranged a distraction for them by weakening the seal on a magical sarcophagus containing a beast of living fire", which explains why he is connected to Renekton and Nasus, the firefighters, and Xerath, who used him.

  8. Ryze. He is now related to Brand, Miss Fortune, Trundle, Sona, Nasus, Galio and Malzahar. I have no idea why would Ryze is connected to so many champion across different location. From his last lore update, we know he is collecting runes from all over the world, but what are the connections between these champs and runes? Maybe Brand uses one of the runes to burn the world, Trundle's tribe is hiding several runes (as they are attacking tribes with runes), Nasus have seen some in his library, or MF is trading some. But Galio? Sona? I just don't get it.

  9. Ryze and Malzahar. A theory about Icathia is running after the release of Jax's story "None Shall Pass". Icathia's ruin might relate to runes, leading to void in result. Malzahar is from Icathia. Jax is from Icathia. Icathia is now "a land that no longer existed". Ryze's master Tyrus, caused a disaster in Icathia, devastating the area. The event may also account for the blue skins on Ryze and Jax.

  10. Skarner. Skarner is now related to Jayce and Rek'Sai. Maybe he is making friend with Rek'Sai under the ground of Shurima, or having conflicts. And Jayce? Jayce is just a Pilty with a high tech weapon. The only possible way I can think of to connect this, is that Jayce's weapon is using life crystals, from crystalline scorpions, as the energy supply of his weapon.

  11. Vel'Koz and Zilean are now related. I have no clue on this.

Vel'Koz is related to Zilean because he found the tower that Zilean once inhabited. He seeks out Zilean to learn of the time magic he uses.

Very interested to see the Skarner/Jayce and Sona/Ryze stories. Those have interesting implications to say the least.

Veigar has a lot more relations now. Wish they expanded on his lore or gave a reason why

I'm really interested in the whole how jinx went crazy and how the whole Jinx, Ekko, Vi gang went down and how they got seperated. I know why Vi left.

About Ryse, he was in the Frelljord and met a old friend. His friend was a frost mage who used a world rune to keep the trolls away from his village. Trundle is the troll king as you know. I think thats how they are conected. Maybe Ryse meets Trundle right after he leaved the village.

Skarner is a brackern and Rek'sai is a xer'sai. The brackern is an ancient race that hate that the xer'sai have come and occupied such a large part of Shurima. I do not think Skarner and Rek'sai are friends at all.

1.This could also be partially because the old site was simply very slow when updating champion pages. I mean Hecarim still lists Yorick as one of his friends,even though Yorick is likely one of his worst enemies.So in the case of Jinx and Ekko it is possible that they simply never updated Jinxs page.

6.TF and Eve dated in the old lore,until Eve left Tf. They likely plan to keep the relationship(or treat it as canon until they get to Eves VGU)

9.Well like you said Tyrus caused a disaster in Icathia,so yeah it is pretty obvious that Icathias downfall is tied to the world runes.

11.In vel'kozs lore he finds Zileans tower and some of the inventions that Zilean left behind. He decided that he must find the source of these inventions to gather enough information,meaning that he is actively searching for zilean.

Galio's passive is called Runic Skin, so that might be why Ryze is related to Galio. (Also, maybe Void became void after the Rune War somehow, kinda like how Blessed Isles became Shadow Isles?)

Why does his list paint J4 as friends to Urgot and Swain? Either I'm reading it wrong or LB like Urgot.

In the new lore of Shurima, Xerath weakened sigils of a sarcophagus of mysterious living fire to distract Nasus and Renekton from saving Azir just for the reason of causing sure annihilation. After a short moment, this living fire was confirmed as Brand by Riot.

Also, after Nasus and Renekton defeat Brand, they brought sarcophagus with themselves for binding Xerath. In other say, Xerath is surrounded by the pieces of Brand's sarcophagus. It originally belongs to Brand. Which makes Brand related with Shurima.

TF and Evelynn were couples in old lore, but it is no more canon and they said we unlikely would continue on it. They may meet in a case though, since both are thiefs (Evelynn is also an assassin too, thief and assassin, the worst).

Vel'Koz searches for Zilean because he thinks he is the source of knowledge, since Zilean can see everything in past and future. As I remember It was in his color text.
