I think the ideal solution is to update the textures once more to find a balance between the two.
The original iteration (10/8) was much too desaturated. All the textures sat at the same level of contrast and saturation -- so the skin appeared too washed out.
But the newest iteration (10/27) is overly saturated with a shift in color palette. The yellow in the chest textures pops the complimentary violet in the cloth too much. The model now comes across as seemingly gaudy.
A final iteration should probably keep the yellow textures of (10/27) but tone down their saturation level a tad, not as much as (10/8). The cloth could probably shift to a more blue-violet, but be desaturated much more to give the appearance of a gray mixture. It should allow everything to appear not so washed out, while still popping against the setting.
The skin is great. The textures just still need some tuning.
