New Mordekaiser: Yes, or no?

I am no Mordekaiser main. I didn't even liked to play him the last ~3 years, but even I don't like what Rito has been doing. Likely the deletion of any metal in his concept. No, this is no whine-thread - it's a simple question: Do you, the League of Legends Community, like the new Mordekaiser? New, in this case, means past VFX and Juggernaut changes. I will put down a list with reasons for and against and I will try to be as objective as I possibly can.

Reasons for the new Mordekaiser: The new Mordekaiser, the Lord of Death is an undead from the Shadow Isles, who uses undead-powers to kill his enemies and to enslave their souls. This is mostly based on the comment of "Ant in Oz" on IronSolariLeona's thread "Rest in Peace Mordekaiser": Old Mordekaisers theme was overloaded, he was a mage, he was an undead, he had something going on with metal, he is a big dude in a big armor. This seemed to be confusing, combined all in one character, so they "did a move away" from the metal aspect in his VFX. Since there was no metal anymore to begin with, they changed the title into "Lord of Death".

Reasons for old/against new Mordekaiser: The old Mordekaiser, the Master of Metal is a walking set of Armor, or a possessed armor, or a being bound to an armor, who can control metal and enslave the souls of the living. He uses his powers to inflict the most possible pain to his victims and isn't even bound by death, as he tortures them even after their end. The probably biggest part of the community (if it's not the biggest, it is the loudest), is upset because the Metal of Mordekaiser was an essential part of his persona. Even his Spells were named after Metal songs. Now, after he lost the "metal" in it, he turned into a Karthus-like undead, using some soul-flurry, which totally doesn't fit to a Giant in Armor. Imagine Nautilus throwing Lulu's Glitterlance. I know, the comparison is exaggerated, but think about it. This just doesn't fit.

Well, this is likely all of it, but, I am certain something more will come up in the comments, as this is a Mordekaiser thread...

I have a typo in the question and can't fix it item 3151 Here now the question:

Honestly as a metal fan and a Morde fan... without metal.

The joke gets stale after a while and maces coming out of nowhere were ridicolus. I enjoyed that more just because i have the Pentakill skin, which instead made that coherently over-the-top.

On the other hand i am not for a Morde totally without metal: being somehow "metal" is a core characteristic of him, but not because of the armor or because it bends metal, but for the correlation he has with the music genre itself: he makes darkness and pain a known and experienced thing and uses it, even thought in metal is more metaforical and here more literal, and he does not compromise with anything. Plus, love it or hate it, he is still a bit the "master of metal" now, like Taric is "fabulous".

Having it reasonably toned down, while keeping a strong entendre under the appearance is what is best in my opinion. The tite itself for example: maybe Master of Metal is not perfect, but Lord of Death is just tastless.

He should have metal.

Like... Metal and lightning and dark magic. That's the dream. That's what should make him Mordekaiser.

I honestly don't even see why Riot needed to "choose" when it can so easily blend altogether for one super-badass death knight.

This will sound mean here so I'm sorry in advance. I don't like stepping on people's toes but this will probably do it anyway so please, feel free to bite my hand off as I type this, it's probably deserved:

Old Morde was pretty much a joke to me; a character based entirely around metal and metal puns, a caricature of a bad guy. New Morde with less metal and more death is basically what I'd have expected from such a character coming in to League given the setting and his current place in it. The visuals look much cooler, his dragon is bad ass as fuck, and gives the impression of someone like the Lich King from WoW and I greatly enjoy that. Thus I welcome this change and eagerly await the end of the month when his long lore comes out to learn more about the "Lord of Death" as he is now known.

They listened and reacted to new Fiora's new hair-style hysteria. That reaction was a mistake. I doubt they'll be push-overs again.

First I saw new Trundle and Soraka, I think new one can be better. But since I saw new Gangplank and Fiora, I think every old one still better. (choose old without doubt)
