Confused about Lore Reboot

I don't understand if some of the current lore still stands, and if it does what parts. I know that Riot said they wanted to scrap the part where everyone joins the League and lives there but this complicates some things and I'd like to know how they are affected. Examples are these Champions stories:

Sejuani Is Sejuani still a warlord trying to conquer the Freljord, opposed by Ashe Ashe by default since she is trying to unite it?

More serously what about Fiddlesticks Fiddlesticks and Champions with stories like him? He literally lives in the Institute of War, and is an executioner.

Do they have plans to change Champion back stories? If so will they only be changing the ones that conflict with old lore like Fiddle? Or will they still touch stories that stand on their own like Sejuani and Ashe?

So at the moment what the narrative department says about this is basically is to remove the league from everything and everything else stays.A lot of things don't make sense so Riot is gonna go around and hit everything with the retcon stick. Most of riot's efforts for the next year (and probably more) will be fixing runeterra and retconning champions. Regarding your examples i'd say the freljord stuff is gonna stay. The freljord event is in many player's perspectives the beginning of Riot's retcon efforts. Here's a little tidbit from carnival knights one of the narrative crew talking about Fiddlesticks

Hello! I'm currently the guy taking a crack at Fiddlesticks (still in the early stages, nothing concrete). For the current iteration I've decided to keep him separate from the Shadow Isles, if nothing more than to keep SI from being our Spooky Scary Champ megamart. Plus, I think he fits in better elsewhere anyway :)

One of the things I want to preserve is the core of Fiddle's personality, while expanding on his origins and purpose. I'm throwing in a bit of Lovecraft and Alice in Wonderland to the early drafts (I also took a couple suggestions from the forums), so hopefully the result is a bit of creepy absurdism with a hint of something-wicked-this-way-comes. We'll see if we end up using any of it, but I'm definitely trying to do him proud! Carnival knights 10-24-2014

They've mentioned plans to change every affected champion's stories (and Fiddlesticks was mentioned by them at some point) but it's all incredibly up in the air and no one knows right now. We could be waiting months until we find out what Fiddlesticks, Nocturne, Cho'Gath and Brand are all up to these days.

For all we know, the four of them are having a picnic in the Shurima desert.

yeah overall everything that isn't tied directly to the IoW is still canon. So most champion lores remain the same except for that small part where they joined the league. For example ahri isn't a fox girl who murdered people to become more human until she started to feel regret and thus joined the league so that they find a way for her to become human anymore. But instead she is now a fox girl who murdered people to become more human until she started to feel regret and now seeks a way to become human without killing more people.

Champs who are tied too much to the IoW will get full lore retcons, that meansChogath Jax Kayle Morgana Taric Malphite Fiddlesticks Nocturneand to some extent Orianna & Brand (I think these 2 will merely change some bits around, like brand simply never getting caught, because he acts more carefully and with the original orianna dying because of some other reason)

And then we will see Ahri be couple with MonkeyKing by new lore.

Is there an official post about why they're doing the lore retcon? It just doesn't make any sense to me, the IoW and Summoners were the selling point of League of Legends, and it's even a part of the name. It made the game "believable" in terms of how these champions from all over Valoran and beyond are gathering in one place. Why are people that would be enemies on the same team? How are they there? etc etc etc
