EDIT: A note for all; there's some lore changes abound. Her passive still seemingly means an ambassador, but she seems to be fitted for a "reluctant hero" archetype as she tries to find a worthy hero for that hammer that's OBVIOUSLY meant for her. More will be come clear when her VO and lore are released, so stay tuned!

Sharjo7 votesI felt the same way, drawing parallels to Nami, of course the major difference is that Poppy and Nami actually fulfill the role of the other's target: Poppy's looking for a hero to give the hammer too, like the Moonstone to Nami, and Nami's looking to get the moonstone from a hero in exchange for the abyssal pearl.
I like the angle of heroic characters who aren't born great; but rise to the challenge when no one else does or simply are humble enough to believe they're not the main character in the story. In line with that I'm getting good vibes about Poppy already.
I'm just itching to hear her voice!

AhhShucks5 votesUm, am I the only one really annoyed by the transition to a tank in the late game? I play Poppy to be a late game hyper carry thank you very much. I'm pretty sure everyone who plays Poppy plays her to be a late game hyper carry. Why would you do this?
At least with Sion he had like three different builds and one of them actually was being a tank. Poppy at no point in time has been considered a tank. Always she has been a late game monster.

Count Zubat6 votesIt's relaunch, Riot said that the only thing that will stay the same in Poppy is her Heroic Charge and everything else will be changed. Same with Sion, the only ability similar to old Sion's abilities is shield and infinite health stacking. That's the point of complete relaunch - a complete reimagination of certain champion.

Mishli2 voteslong time poppy player here, yes i agree hypercarry poppy was amazing, but there's no good way to do that, Poppy was originally designed (as in released) to be a tank, and they're rebooting her to fill that role properly, yes it will be sad not being able to explode faces in a 1v4, but there's no good way to do that and keep it actually balanced. Poppy isn't vayne or leblanc and, though i'm sad those champs can potentially 1v4, it doesn't fit her and they're moving away from that idea into something else.

I'm going to miss AP Poppy but it hasn't been good since DFG was removed so I've sort of missed it for over a yea now anyways. I really want to see her AD ratios though. While I'll happily play her as a tank when needed... Well, what can I say? I want to nuke people literally into orbit with 400AD.
Also I really find it interesting they gave her an aoe mobility block. Talk about lockdown.

She's 450 now, and just as a side note. Sion was reworked like cray. Now how expensive is Sion? That's right 1350 IP.

Redhaven1 votesOk for starters Love the design, have to play to feel out her changes, but... hate the new lore... i realize shes now the "reluctant hero" archetype(or whatever is stated) and not the Hero looking for Redemption or purpose(you can also say revenge, but i never looked at poppy that way), but that's just not as good. The old lore brought a tear to my eye, inspired me to pick up an play the "Little Linebacker"(as my friend dubbed her) but this new lore just kinda makes me feel nothing... i dunno, personally, i think you could of kept the old lore just replaced a few things, and still had the same direction you are trying to go. One other thing this line "Little does she know, she is that hero, and the destiny of Demacia is in her hands." (I realize that can be extremely ambiguous so it's up to us or Riot to figure out where to go with it) ya, hate that line it's too central( more like focused, but meh) for my tastes, it's like the game now has a central hero for demacia, an poppy is it, and that's just... i dunno, not right for a game like this.
TL;DR - like the art, interested in playstyle and VO, not a fan of the lore change.

i 100% agree with you, personally i don't mind the new lore as much, but it's got nothing on 'Poppy and her father made a beautiful crown... then he was murdered in front of her, then she walked ALONE across a chunk of the country to make sure the delivery was completed... and didn't even want payment for it' that just makes you go DAMN... the feels... this girl is a badass
