So, Tahm just dropped a hint of what's to come in the Bilgewater Event

Valaran Nara··9 votes·4,786 views

As some of you may know, Master Chef Tahm Kench is THE Roastmaster of League of Legends. The catfish boasts a hearty 46 taunts to multiple champions. He has 2 for Gangplank himself.

Enemy: "Your attempt to be monstrous is as successful as your dictatorship." Ally: "You're a man with troubles. I have solutions."

I am going to make the assumption that GP is going to act like he's Blackbeard to make sure he brings all of Bilgewater together under his flag. And the fact that Tahm said your "attempt to be monstrous" suggests that any cruelty that Gangplank shows or feigns is just an act and that he isn't the most ruthless of people.

Do you want to know what is going to happen in the bilgewater event?

Nothing, like Shurima and Freljord.

Nothing.

Nah, probably 10001 retcons of everyones liked champions will be made. Then narrative will again crawl into their echo hole saying to themselves that they did good and that they cannot make mistakes.

To be serius Trundle rework was the best thing, i didn't care a shit about old trundle, was just so boring and plain.

Reworked trundle is just way funnier and interesting.

Dextix LT3 votes

No he is not. The original story of a cast out troll trying to get back to his own village by aquiring enough power. Was replaced by another generic bad guy story.

You realize that the judgement made trundles lore useless right? He went from trying to find a cure, to who the fk cares. He had no where to go with his story of why he was doing anything. He needed the retcon

Dextix LT4 votes

Just because one story about a champion ends it doesnt mean that the other stories can be created for him without retconing the character.

You sound like the narrative "Story can only end with a characters death" which is bullshit. 1 Champion can have many stories, which can end differently. Trundles old lore was intersting and original for those who read it not skimped through it. Then he was retconed to become "Badguy Henchman NR.2" for lissandra with no originality left in his bones.

Perhaps, but why not keep his original story while retconning, but bringing it down to a different path, where the cure didn't kill everyone?

Overall Trundle's visuals are infinitely better now.

But that new laugh, damn. Biggest downgrade in the history of LOL.

What about the horrible, half-a-paragraph lore revisions?

They're worse than nothing, but they're... Something, right? Like a negative number. The opposite of a positive one. The opposite of good lore.

Skarner still best lore

DrCyanide3 votes

Oh, I'm sure they'll improve on it.

Skarner was inanimate loot on a ship in Bilgewater, until he mysteriously came to life. What's he after? No one knows.

theres gonna be a Bilgewater event? I thought he's just reffering to gangplank's soon-to-come rework and visual update.

Actually...

So yeah, I think we're actually going to get a Bilgewater event. perhaps even as soon as next patch, which pretty much aligns with Jaredan's "next month there's something new coming" posts.

Actually that picture seems like concept art for "The Pledge" in the minute 1:28

I mean... the place its Bilgewater... but...

To me they both look like a big bridge, especially the third image that shows actual ingame footage. The Bilgewater page was named Building Butcher's Bridge, but I have no idea what that entails, other than it's a bridge in Bilgewater.

If you look closely at the first image, it shows a gateway, a huge Bilgewater sign and a bunch of wood plank pathways around the houses at the sides, which reminds me of the movie Hobbit's rendition of Lake Town. The shot you describe in "The Pledge" clears depicts a solid street that could have a few people walk through, and to me, the first image looks drastically different; I can just about see ripple effects indicating it's water down there, and the thing in the middle kinda resembled a boat to me.

I'm quite possibly wrong about all this, but I feel like this "Butcher's Bridge" is infact legit despite my gut telling me "Don't trust things like this till they're officially announced!!!"

ooohhhh... there are more pictures than the first one.... i didnt saw that... lol...

Anyways... the "map" seems to be a "skin" for the howling abyss... But if a lore event its coming, im waiting with open arms.

Sharjo1 votes

I suppose I should've said, I thought it would've properlly said it was an imgur album, sorry for the confusion!

As for what the "map" is? I personally thought it was an ARAM skin, some have said they hope it's a 1v1 map, but who knows? We've still got about two weeks before we could even begin to expect anything like this being brought up, but considering that the thread about Butcher's Bridge was posted and then removed, as if it was prematurely put up indicates someone thought something was prepped for arrival...I dunno. I'm just getting slowly hyped to greater and greater degrees.

EDIT: Guess I was right after all! YAY!

Either way we know something called "Butcher Bridge" is looming on the horizon.

Now I doubt its an entirely new mode they're making.

My guess is its going to be Riot's first stab at alternative map skins. Transforming Howling Abyss -> into Butcher Bridge. It makes sense to start with ARAM since its the simplest map in LoL

Probably along with some reworks for GP and MF.

I'm glad Bligewater is finally getting some love. Its one of the most underdeveloped settings in Runeterra.

Just popping in here to say that those pictures are of the Thunderdome version of the Bilgewater ARAM map. This was a couple years ago, Kalista did not exist when those pictures were taken.

Here's our promo page for the map - http://na.leagueoflegends.com/en/page/game-update/special-event/building-butchers-bridge-bilgewater-event

Not trying to troll- but speaking of Bilgewater, I made a new Bilgewater champion concept. Check it out in the forums. I'm looking for any suggestions. http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/skin-champion-concepts/gA63q8c0-whats-turret-diving-now-new-champion-must-see
