Am I the only one who is getting tired of all these leaks?

I'm asking because it takes away from the hype of the teasers, sneak peaks, etc. Any thing Riot has for their campaigning to promote teh champion feels less because we already see it. Part of the hype is not knowing who/what/how the champion is. We don't have anything to couple with it but images of him in game to actually make the champion appear bigger than life; to give us a glimpse into his mind; to give us a glimpse into his reality.

I mean, can you imagine if we fully saw Jhin's model and what he does BEFORE we saw Mind of the Virtuoso? I mean, it's a great video and whatnot, but we wouldn't be theory crafting or going "OMG, how does he look. What the heck is happening?".

No. We will look at it, say his name, point at the model, and overall dissect it not for artistic brilliance but to say, "Wait, is this 1:1 what he's suppose to look like?"

Ever since that first leak for Xayah & Rakan as well as teh skins popping up, nothing really grabbed me or got me hyped or excited because it was all spewed out before anything could be drummed up. No mystery. No suspense. No "real" anticipation. Just, "Oh cool. Wonder how long it'll take. Oh, the teaser's here. Setting clock for 2 weeks from now."

In case you don't know what that is, it's a parody series on YT that dubs over the show and makes fun of random parts.

In the episode Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura introduced themselves to their teacher, Sasuke said, "I'd kill my brother for a Klondike bar."

Teacher: "You'd do what for a Klondike bar?"

Sasuke: "I just told you. I'd kill him for a klondike bar."

He said this while having his fingers weaved together in front of his face while staring off in the distance trying to be an edgy emo kid who doesn't care about others.

Yeah Yas is the second in my book. While Warwick's pretty edgy he's also kinda too far removed from human to remain completely reletable, so I like him more. I'll take an edgy monster guy over an edgy human any day.

I'd argue Warwick's struggle is more relatable. He represents the monster we all try to keep in check. Or better, represents a man who tried but failed to be a good person, something that people can do every day.

Honestly, I'm surprised people haven't been making unsavory magical boy jokes about Ezreal. I mean, they speak more of Tuxedo Mask (handsome guy in Sailor Moon) than that one anime with the magical boys.

If you're referring to the new champ "leak," I think that was an intentional teaser on Riot's part. We'll likely get details today when datamining on the updated PBE starts. We're patching tomorrow, so the timing isn't an accident, I think.

I guess. It's just...I don't like knowing the names or what they look like before actually getting the teaser. It keeps me from entering the wonder and mystery about it.

o_o I mean, seriously. I feel like I'd be more "OMG" over the missions and skins thing if I didn't know Riven and Yas were getting those skins to begin with.

Now we wait for SG to get their stuff in. Time for us to receive our Tuxedo mask.

Well, that's good feedback for Riot. I tend to agree with you, actually, but it's important to distinguish between "teasers" and "leaks."

The real leaks are propagated by jerks who enjoy ruining things for the rest of us. The teasers are just a low-effort way to throw some people a bone a few hours early ;)

I'd also prefer the old style; short video clips and the like. In-game stuff isn't that exciting, especially when it's coming out on PBE so soon.

i got tired of the leaks back when Elementalist Lux was leaked months in advance... ruined all hype for the skin and just turned it into "so when will it come out?" it's a really good skin, so it should have gotten the hype it deserved, but the leaks ruined that.

You're talking about that event with hindsight. When we got that leaked information at the time no one knew if it was legit or not, it wasn't until Riot officially announced it that people knew that, of all the "leaks" that we often get, this one was real.

And everyone is drawing all of this recent dislike from one giant leak. Most leaks aren't this massive and it's only because of several of the leaks from that post being confirmed that makes it so bad because it's not like a singular leak where no one can really say for sure if it's real or not UNTIL the thing gets released, here we've figured out that they were legit and now we KNOW what is coming.

Honestly, I don't really like leaks. I like the surprise and mystery of a teaser much more than the leaks like we got for this champion.

I personally don't care about trailers and teasers at all. I would much rather see the champs abilities... That gets me far more hyped. I wouldn't say I give no shits about lore at all, but compared to gameplay there's no competition in my eyes, and all teasers and trailers are good for is showing the champs personality or their story or what ever. After I saw the leak for the new champ I don't know about you but that got me pretty hyped to play him.

To be honest, I've been feeling like leaks are replacing teasers more and more.

I don't know how I feel about it. There's certainly less discussion on the boards with every teaser now. I remember back during the Kindred leak how hyped everyone was.

I was so hyped for Bard because of his Avatar-like animation short. Or Braum's. And many other champ's teasers.

But then this new guy kinda just showed up as a series of blurry screenshots, talk about a real hype killer.

I don't get how there's a demand for this kind of thing in the first place, honestly.

Kayn's wasn't really that unusual though. We usually get some kind of leak the day of a new champion reveal anyway, this isn't new.

Note: I made this thread the moment I saw the model. Before I knew the teaser was suppose to come out today. So, I guess Kayn doesn't count, but I still dislike the leaks that happened earlier which ruined the hype for the Vs. Mission and Pulsefire Cait. Like, I'd have been totally stoked if I didn't see the name and got tired of the idea before the teaser was up.
