Best Top Laners to Start With Patch 6.8

Okay, so, I'm a support main, but I also like to dabble in playing mid now and then; or, at least, I used to do that. However, my computer is really bad, like, REALLY BAD! My ping is always amazing, usually like 29 ping on average, but my fps tends to hover around 13 fps, which makes the ping advantage useless if I can't act on it. So, instead of playing squishy supports and mid-laners that do tons of damage, I wanted to start focusing on top lane, as while the mid laner usually does a lot of damage, I lag so much that I can't capitalize on that damage, but instead get deleted before I can do anything. Top laners are usually very tanky, so I figure I won't get punished as much if my game freezes for a second. But the thing is, I only own supports and mid laners, so I'm wondering what top laners to focus on getting. I've tried looking it up, but all of the suggestions out there are severely outdated, and I know they're outdated, because I like to watch esports. So, anyways, I know Ekko Ekko top is a really good, slightly OP thing to do right now, but he more fun and better than Maokai Maokai or Malphite Malphite? I also think that Illaoi Illaoi and Gnar Gnar look fun, and while Illaoi Illaoi gets countered hard, I feel like at lower ELOs she would be better. I just have no idea who to buy first. Also, I already own Poppy Poppy FYI.

TL;DR: I'm switching to top lane from mid and support because it will be easier to play on my computer, but I have no idea which top laner to buy first! Any suggestions for patch 6.8? Please and thank you.

At 13 FPS, you're useless to the team no matter what role you go. Tank or not.

Anyways, Ekko, Malph, Maokai, Akali, Sion, Poppy, Cho'Gath, Trundle, Rammus.

Buy Maokai. Easy, playable on low ping, gamechanging.

If your transitioning from mid to top, try galio or yasuo. Still similar gameplay, gets you into the mix of things. THen use people like Mao, poppy, and Rammus.

Wrong subboard. This is the subboard for discussing the story, art and the sounds of the game, not to give people tips on who they should play.

On the topic: I dunno if Illaoi would be such a good choice if your pc is slow. You need to hit with your E to be effective and in the lategame illaoi easily becomes a sink-or-swim-champ who can deal massive amounts of aoe damage, but dies really quickly if she isn't fast enough.
