I'm so disappointed in Riot. Time and time again I look forward to better and better events; I think WOW snowyrift was awesome, this year they're gonna do something even better!, or how harrowing has gotta be chalked full of content this year.
Nah Riot has successfully disappointed year after year, their content continually gets lazier and lazier, until finally it's literally non-existant. They can advertise out the ass and take all the cash we have left on our pockets but actually giving a shit about what the community expects and wants is something they clearly don't and wont acknowledge as a priority

I totally agree with the OP, and literally. I think the decision to nerf one of the most fun holidays should mean someone's job. This is clearly someone who's thinking about business, and not about making LoL the most fun game that it can possibly be, and if it keeps happening, it's going to mean a loss of interest in an already-aging game, and all the jobs that go along with it.
As a first-year player, I've so been waiting for Harrowing event skins that I've checked 2x every day for the entire last week. I feel so disappointed and betrayed now, I wonder if I should really be investing several hours a day trying to get into this game.

I mean, there IS logic about changing the date from Halloween. Let's see...Worlds? No, the skin/lore teams don't work on that. Date isn't accurate? No, it's Halloween, the same date it's been done on for five years. Hm...can't find anything except these things called "laziness" and "poor planning". My props to the lore team for actually giving us something, but seriously, I'll add an additional "fuck you Riot" to the comments and the main point in the OP.
Garena has already opened their legacy harrowing vault last weekend. They're unable to sell the new skins yet since Riot has not released them, but Garena has made available nearly all the old harrowing skins for sale at 50% discount.

Have already spent 100+$ on another game that could have been spent on vault bundles and new skins. No Halloween event means massive loss of money.
Now i get the point of it and even though i dont entirely agree with the decision i also see the point of the decision.
The many reason was that they would like to get the bios re done and a way that they want to do them is to also incorporate them in stories for all the lore fans out there too.
There are many different areas that the champions come from and the lore/story team would like to be able to tell stories and update the lore of all the champions. I know many people want to know what happens with tf and graves next and others would really like a Diana/ Leona Story, and Morgana/Kayle Story.
The problem is would people settle for just 1 story about the harrowing per year per area or would they like to read harrowing stories from all the areas? Personally i wouldnt mind reading how Bandle City deals with the Harrowing or Shurima but dont really want to wait a year to read it the same can go for snowdown.
The decision to not actually have the stories happen during the exact times that it happens in our reality i can understand, they want to be able to do it a couple of times per year. Unfortunately many players (myself included) got used to the harrowing happening around the end of October, and Snowdown happening around Christmas time, my concern is will they also take out the Lunar Revel?
We all get used to things being a certain way and do not seem to like change but when you sit back and look at it or even give it a chance you may actually enjoy the new way they do it more.
I wouldnt mind having the chance to get harrowing skins at different times through the year, unfortunately the winter olympics and world cup skins will only ever come out once every 4 years but wouldnt you like to be able to get them sooner? well maybe that will also happen with the new story/lore/Bio's.
Tl;Dr I am not saying i agree with the decision but i can see what they are terying to do so give it a chance before you just complain.

Amen to that! I'm spending the RP I set aside to spend on some of these skins on other skins I was planning on buying, and am going out of my way to only buy the minimum amount of RP for the content that I want, and screw the rest of it, if this game still holds my attention in a couple of months.
Been playing this game off and on for over 3 years, and this might be the final push that makes it so I don't come back.
I was looking forward to at least something fun to do on league for Halloween. I mean I would had been fine even if they just brought back Hexakill again at least. Instead they decide to not do anything but release 3 skins that aren't even available to buy yet. :\
idk - I think that on one hand, Riot needs the flexibility to NOT have to do this thing every single year... It's not likely their best investment.
However - it's been a few years since we've had Halloween skins. Things like Kitty Katarina and Pumpkin Head Fiddles are great Halloween skins, they are fun costumed skins that I love to use.
Ever since they tried to cement it as some actual undead thing the fun costumes went away. I don't mind a year of undead or this year of zombies, but can we please have fun costumes again? Haunting Nocturne is best nocturne.
Why can't we buy older Harrowing skins already? They are better then this year's ones even tho they are older (underworld twisted fate is still one of the best skins in game imo and he is made in 2012.).
