Aatrox: Shurima, Targon, and the Angelic Sisters

So, with Aatrox's special interactions video up on SkinSpotlights, I noticed some interesting interactions with Champions who don't actually belong in the current canon. Champions who, effectively, only exist in the game. I want to talk about two in particular: Kayle, and Morgana.

So, to brush up real quick, pre-retcon lore has Kayle and Morgana as angels in some faraway realm off in "whoknowswhere" and they were brought to Runeterra for "whoknowswhy". Their people, the Angels, were embroiled in a long, awful war consisting of the forces of light and dark. Loyalist, Light-aligned angels like Kayle were pitted against rebellious, dark-aligned fallen angels like Morgana. The two in question are sisters, so, family schism.

But, that's old lore. Summoners and League of Legends lore. Since the retcon and the slow, steady shift towards more reasonable fantasy lore instead of "faraway planets" and "otherworldly realms", Kayle and Morgana have (like Soraka, Malphite, and a few others) lost their place in League canon.

But, with Aatrox's GPU, we have hints, small slivers of what's to come for their inevitable VGUs and lore updates.

To Kayle: "Let me show you your error, Kayle! You are not worthy of ascension! You are not worthy of the worms." "Die, Kayle...Knowing your potential will never be reached."

To Morgana: "You would bind yourself to this realm, Morgana? Fine. Let me show you the ground." "You disgust me, Morgana. Die in the filth of your bound flesh."

We already know that the Darkin lore has ties to both Targon and Shurima - as Shurima's God-Empress used tools granted by Targon to bind the five last Darkin into weapons (especially noteworthy due to Aatrox's all-caps style hatred of the Aspect of Change), but it seems as though Morgana and Kayle might have future ties to these two factions as well.

Kayle seems as though she's going to have ties to Shurima - with Aatrox remarking that she's "not worthy of ascension", which, as we know, is a ritual deification in Shurima that turns legendary humans into, effectively, demigods.

Morgana, on the other hand, while there's nothing explicitly stated about her potential future faction, it seems like she might be tied to Targon - as when Aatrox kills her, he mocks her to "die in the filth of (her) bound flesh", and that he remarks that she "bound herself to this realm" - claiming that where she originates from is above, with "let me show you the ground" being his taunt to follow.

Perhaps Morgana is a Targonian, taking a human host body as the other Aspects do?

But, of course, separating Kayle and Morgana between two factions would involve separating their lore ties as sisters. However, that note brings me back to Aatrox's mention of ascension.

Targon gifted Shurima (and the people of Runeterra as a whole) with the tools to imprison the Darkin. Could it be possible that the Aspect of the Sun gave them the Sun Disc, as well? That golden lens through which sunlight sears mortality and weakness, and turns men into demigods?

But, even if that were so, there still begs the question: What ties would Kayle and Morgana have, if Kayle seeks to ascend, while Morgana hails from a realm above?

This all is a bunch of tentative, speculative nonsense for the time being, as, again, we've only got all of four quotes to go by, but, I still felt it would be good to start a discussion about this while it's still fresh on my mind. What do you guys think? Will they keep the idea of the realm of angels with Kayle and Morgana's new lore? Will Kayle and Morgana be separated by faction? Could I be reading a little too far into three lines for potential information?
