I don't understand how it is possible for Riot Games to deliver a writing piece as good as this https://universe.leagueoflegends.com/en_US/story/xinzhao-aftermath-story while also being responsible for the tragedy that was the Pantheon Biography.

Why? Was it just time constraints?

The Xin Zhao short story was so eloquently written and refreshing to read that I am at loss for words on how the last thing I read left me baffled with its poor writing, terrible inconsistencies and weak character building.

Seriously, for this piece you deserve praise. This was good.

Edit: I just found out they did a short story for Pantheon too. I just read it. It was actually quite good but I can't help but think of it as being a diamond placed on top of a pile of crap. For what it did- building Pantheon's character, establishing his power, establishing the tribes near Targon, establishing the menace that are Darkin... it did well. Unfortunately, it doesn't overwrite some of the poorly written explanations of what occurred between Pantheon and Aatrox. https://universe.leagueoflegends.com/en_US/story/pantheon-fallen-story/ still a good read though.

Anthony is a god. I love his writing, I genuinely think it's both super good and accessible. I hope he'll get to write for me favourite champions (again?) in the future!

I have to agree the new j4/Xin is amazing, and not the classic amazing for Riot's standard. Not only it focused on the characters and made them feel alive not frozen in the time but also it did amazing worldbuilding and even left hints for the future of the Demacia story. Perfection, literal perfection. As much as a try to like new Panth I simply can't push the big plot holes aside and just go with it as nothing happened. It would have been a 10/10 for me if the Darkin and the power thing were handled differently, and more logically.
