Canyon sized plot hole in Garen's lore

Garens bio and short story seem to point out quite heavily that Garen does not like magic, to the point of repressing his knowledge that his sister is a mage.

Garens ult literally nukes them from orbit with a sword of magic, dealing magic damage, or true damage if you done fukkd up.

Is this indication of a rework? Or was this just that bad an omission? Since we all know Garen is in fact Runeterra's most powerful wizard, to the point that you guys had to remove deathfire grasp just to make him fair... I'm surprised the source of his concern was on his sister and not on himself. Garen

Gameplay is not congruent with Lore. Note that Galio's also not 100 times the size of everyone else.

I don't think his ult really works like that in lore.

I'm almost certain one of the Narrative or World-Building Rioters once said (a couple of years ago or so) that Garen can't actually do all the magics, that he does in-game, in real life.

Never found the source of that Red post again, unfortunately. :( Hopefully Jaredan or any of those other lovely fellows from Narrative & World-Building can confirm this.

Having a good KDA means you "fukkd up."

Seems legit.

He might not use magic, but something that is more like a concentrated force of rightousness.

After all his ult doesn't scale with magic power;)

Or he might learn this ability later in the lore.

I think that Galio just throws large swords on enemies Garen faces. [slayer-jinx-wink]

Theory: petricite transfers the magic it absorbs into the people using it (like how galio came to life), leading to the people of demacia subconsciously using magic.
