I'm in love with her rework, but now her splash art doesn't match her new model.

The current idea is to update the splash because the proportions and face are a little more in line.

This seems like a good choice. That splash art is pretty fantastic.

As a side note, the words "wild" and "animalistic" don't really jump out to me when I look at her new model and all of her current art. It's in the "KaBOOM!", but not really in her eyes/ears. Will other splash arts bring out more of this side of her?

This is really great to hear. I absolutely love the Tristana VU, but I also really liked the new Trist splash and I think it'd have been a huge shame if it was made obsolete after just 3 months or trashed altogether.

I don't like that idea. It could be really misleading as the Lil' Slugger Trundle splash is. Just make her a new one.

Trundle needs some new splashes for his first 2 skins, they're still based on the pre-VU Trundle.

I don't really understand why you had somebody make a new splash art for Tristana knowing that she was getting a VGU, I think it's called? Isn't that somewhat wasting effort now? Unless you had the splash art done before and then somewhere along the rework figured you wanted to change her appearance a fair bit, aswell.

Still, wouldn't it have been smarter to simply do the rework first and the splash art later so it was certain they'd fit? The outfit in her splash art doesn't fit, either, now.

Personally I like the changes overall, but I'm forced to agree that I like her older color scheme much more. Think of it like a difference between a 9/10 and a 10/10

I do like what they did with the champ update, I really do. Is it just me though? Am I the only one that thinks Trist's getup in the splash is a LOT better than what they did with her model? She's so much scrappier and interesting in the splash with the chainmail skirt, jacket, belts, metal gloves, etc.

Not to say the new model for her base is bad by any means, but it just seems like they're trying too hard to make her seem rebellious or loose cannon. I think her splash costume is just a lot more interesting, tells more story. I'm probably gonna copy and paste this into a new thread to ask in general what people think, but I would be a lot more excited about this if we got the Trist they showed in the splash.

Yeah, I definitely agree with this. I'm considerably more fond of the design in her current splash art than what we appear to be getting with the rework.

Definitely agree with that assessment. The chainmail and armor in conjunction with leather and the gun really gives her this awesome unique look. But when I think to all the other heroes with metal in the model/skin that have received visual updates and the metal became "plastic" looking due to them reducing the contrast to fit in line with the new SR, I think it's fine that the new model stayed away from the armor.

Also a lot of splashes have a way of making a hero look way cooler than they really are in game since the artist is not limited by having to think of what the champ looks like when animated/in the map(clarity); so I do believe that if the same artist were to make a new splash based on the new model, I'm sure you and all the rest of us would be more into the all leather/rebellious look.

I don't think she'll be getting a completely new splash, though it's possible that the live splash will be updated so it's more in line (ie her skin tone is lightened and her wardrobe/weapon more aligned). Either way, I love both of them, so no complaints here

I think they will change it the same way as they did with Ahri when making her splash. I love the current one so I would hate to see it completely changed.

Haha, well they've already updated a few splashes that went live (Wukong and Graves, I think), and are still updating icons and such, so it was a pretty fair guess I think :P

Trist was in line for an update before Poppy because her's was smaller, as was Alistars. Poppy's update will be close to a Sion level update, but not exactly there, meaning it'll come much later, what with all the work most likely being done to it.
