Who is the Most powerful champion Lorewise

Now I know there's a billion and a half videos on youtube about this. But I've been thinking about it lately and so I will ask the Question. Who is the most powerful champion LOREWISE.

To start lets begin at the basic champs. Annie for example. She is the daughter of a witch, for a little girl she sure does pack a punch, and she is quite cruel as well. Meeting her in a dark alley would be your end that's for sure. But if we're speaking of Witches, what of Lissandra? Lissandra is an Ice witch that has lived since the time of the Watchers. She's old, and very very smart. Fact of the matter is that she has the ability to posses people's bodies and take them as her own. But what happens to those she possesses? Do they die? In which case they are taken by Kindred, who are literally the incarnation of death.Yet Death has no hold on the Shadow Isles, where all things die but return as enslaved souls to the mists.

At any rate, I want to know who you guys think is the most powerful champion Lorwise. I'm interested to hear your opinions.

A few comments.

TahmKench - He's a contract devil. He can't do much to you unless you (or someone else you know) accept his deal. This specific obsession binds him to certain rules and behaviors he will not willingly violate, and if you just don't associate with him you're probably perfectly safe.

Kindred - I'd say Kindred are two of the weaker parties in Runeterra simply because they're heavily bound by rules. They can't affect anyone who isn't supposed to die. Even if they could, a quarter of the roster has to be destroyed through violence because they won't ever die on their own, and there are a few champions that simply cannot be destroyed.

Azir Nasus Renekton - What a big fall from grace for Nasus, who used to be in the Top Three. The Ascended are powerful, but their power seems to be finite and regional. Azir might have a great deal of power in Shurima, but I doubt he'd be so impressive outside of it simply because his powers rely a lot on sand. Nasus and Renekton seem to be weaker than Azir is. Overall, the Ascended aren't that impressive. Except Xerath.

Xerath - The most powerful Ascended and the only one that doesn't seem to have any real limits, either self-imposed or otherwise, on his powers beyond that sarcophagus Nasus threw him in. If he ever shakes off that sarcophagus, he's going to be able to do pretty much whatever he wants.

Lissandra - Lissandra would be dangerous if she were intelligent, but luckily for the world she's so completely beholden to the Watchers that she seems incapable of acting on her own initiative. If she'd used those thousands of years after she got her revenge on (killed) Avarosa and Serylda, time which she was basically unopposed, to actually try taking over the world (or at least the Freljord) herself THEN bring the Watchers back she'd probably have succeeded. But no. Great powers; she'd be a credible threat if she weren't also an idiot.

Kayle Morgana - The fact the lore is split between old and new makes some champions impossible to gauge, and with these two not having had new lore in basically forever it hits them hardest, since in the old lore Kayle was easily in the Top Three (and it's implied Morgana can match her) but now we just don't know. If we still count the old lore, we know Kayle doesn't fight anywhere near full strength (She's been confirmed to use Intervention on six people at once, for instance) and Morgana is supposedly able to rival her (though her old lore doesn't say how). Both of them are powerful enough that the head of the League and its most powerful summoner specifically sought them out, and Kayle remained the League's spokesperson, judge, bodyguard, and referee until the Great Retcon.

Syndra Annie - Both rising stars that should be watched out for, but even at full strength they'd go down rather quickly to...

Veigar - One of the most seriously underestimated people in Runeterra, and its only his insane focus on being a Saturday Morning Cartoon villain that stops him from being able to do some real damage. Sure he's ineffectual and useless, but bear in mind that we've never seen him cast a single spell. What we do know is he's one of the scariest, most well-educated sorcerers in Runeterra and he knows the secrets of dozens of wizards and sages. He can warp cosmic power to his own purpose, drop meteors from the sky, and twist peoples' magical abilities back on themselves. There are champions that would give him problems, but he acts as a gate for other spellcasters - They can't be the most powerful unless they can deal with him, and the only three whose powers would give them an edge would be Kayle, Morgana, and Lissandra.

Graves. For having nothing but a shotgun and the biggest pair of balls in league.

Joking bytheway.

RisenDarkKnight11/13/2015, 10:40:56 AM5 votes

In the old lore, I would say Jax . His old lore was that he joined the league and won every game. He was so good the summoners insisted he couldn't use any real weapons. So he decided just to use a lampost to make it fair to the other champions. So, by that logic, he was the strongest of champions in the game at his release since he lore says he beat all of them consistantly. However, summoners/institute of war have been retconned so he doesnt' really have any lore anymore. I guess I'd go with Bard . He's a immortal time traveler with powers beyond mortals.

Mordekaiser

This guy has 'died' more times than most, and aside from Bard, Kindred and Lissandra, is one of the oldest champions in the entire lore of the game.

Ebonmaw Dragon11/13/2015, 1:59:20 PM4 votes

Oh man... not this thread again...

There are a lot of champions that are powerfull, and ALL of them can be "ended" in some way (Even Kindred).

By raw destructive power, my bets are on Chogath Veigar (black holes) Xerath and potentially Bard (They can destroy cities with ease and maybe even Runeterra)

By power of their "Influence" (including armies) Mordekaiser Azir Aatrox TahmKenchLissandra Malzahar and Kindred would be at the top

By potential power.... well Annie Gnar Jax Syndra Veigar Lux (she can copy magical skills) and Ryze (that scroll)

unexpected champions that may defeat even the strongest ones in a weird way: Lulu (Squirrel op) Zilean (cant die) Olaf (you wont kill him) Vladimir (stealing their life essense... or watever is called) Illaoi (her god actually) Viktor (dont understimate the power of Science?) Amumu (Even kindred stays away from him) Nasus (not actually unexpected... but, that slow)

Brute Force Renekton Braum RekSai Zac and Mega Gnar

It's obviously caster minion

Bard

The champion we see as Bard is but a fraction of his true power. He manifested a ragdoll in order to interact with runeterra, but the actual being behind Bard is basically a god.

Zair Umbras11/13/2015, 10:23:09 AM3 votes

Lore-wise, Morde is probably the strongest currently. Lissandra is probably close given her age and everything.

Annie though has the most potential given her current status. Not only is she a prodigy, but she managed to tame a fierce spirit that she's named Tibbers while having such a large mastery of fire at, what? The age of ten? If she were ever aged, lord only knows what she's possible of.

Shurima ascended, Nasus, Ren, and Azir, are all pretty godly. Their true power is relatively unknown, but Nasus is likely god-tier though given the fact he's been around for ages on top of being the first of Shurima's ascended.

None of us can really deny Olaf is Runeterra's version of the Dragonborn. He used a giant beast to get from one side of an ocean to the other and after he got to the other side, he hacked his way out with his axes. Guy is a real bad ass and no one really knows where he hails from.

Void is full of all kinds of unknown. Some are static creatures with one goal where-as there's Kha'Zix who's the ultimate predator, adapting to its prey and preparing for the kill.

Then we have the Angels, Morgana and Kayle. Morgana studies the black magics and Kayle uses literal holy fire to destroy her enemies. Lord only knows what they're actually capable of....

Brand is supposedly a demon, possibly even a Darkkin given the fact he's simply just a 'creature of olden times', in a human's body with the goal of setting the world on fire. For all we know, if he ever gets his full power, he might actually be capable of lighting the entire world on fire. Given the fact he's called the 'Burning Vengeance', I can guess he's similar to a Darkkin, like Aatrox. Hell, Aatrox is on a whole new level of power too since he feeds off of conflict.

runedara11/13/2015, 11:44:23 PM2 votes

I think I would be Jax in his lore he was unbeatable. He had to handicap himself to give other champions a chance.

SylvanasWrunner11/13/2015, 12:03:36 PM1 votes

Leblanc is silently powerful. She just doesn't show it, she is just waiting for her and her clan's time. Also gameplay wise she is powerful too :P that burst damage though :P

jaythebluejay11/13/2015, 6:35:17 PM1 votes

The Darkins, when fully grouped, should be the most powerful. Aatrox is the Darkin Blade, a being of war. What if the other Darkins are beings of love, insanity, or something else. Aatrox can turn the tides of war at will, so imagine what the other ones could do. And what would happen when they all came together?

It only seems that Bard or maybe even Soraka could contest them as they are demonic beings, and might be vulnerable to light or goodness.

Also, you can't beat Kindred (death itself).

As far as magic goes, it would have to be either Syndra , Annie , or maybe Xerath . Imagine how powerful Annie would be when she grows up? What if Syndra's power just keeps increasing exponentially into infinity? What if Xerath's seal thing is broken? The other Ascended couldn't really contest Xerath, and I'm still confused about the lore, so I'm excluding them.

Kalista might be a contender. She never doesn't fulfill a pledge, but she can only do stuff to you if you've betrayed someone before, leaving a few people pretty much immune to her.

What about Nocturne ? Isn't he like the embodiment of fear or something? That's pretty powerful.

tommyagun11/13/2015, 8:04:13 PM1 votes

People forget that Nasus made the ritual that gave xerath his powers.

Azirious Mistake11/13/2015, 10:26:23 AM1 votes

Considering Syndra has infinite power, my money's on her. either her or Xerath.

Gunpoint11/14/2015, 1:02:30 AM1 votes

Xerath Nothing can and nothing will ever kill him. He is pure arcane energy that is beyond any other magic. The most powerful mages of runeterra could only trap him for a time and no matter how long he is trapped for he will never die so he will always escape eventually.

TwoD11/14/2015, 1:10:02 AM1 votes

Teemo if you read his lore backwards it all makes sense

tommyagun11/13/2015, 10:19:37 AM1 votes

Naus according to lore is the most powerful champ

Fishtaco11/14/2015, 5:28:09 PM1 votes

Bard Because in his lore he is just a fraction of his true power. The only way to access bard's full power is to build full AD, until he literally becomes a God... Naw but im pretty sure its Xerath Because he literally ascended

junglerboy1611/14/2015, 5:56:51 PM1 votes

The dark horse on these lists that nobody mentions is Ryze. He is literally the living embodiment of Runterra's primal magic and has essentially fused with it, becoming part of it and it part of his being (there's a reason he turned purple).

This has nothing to do with his gameplay either.

Other top powerful contenders would be Aatrox (millennia old demonic entity of uncertain power) Anivia (essentially immortal being with some of the most powerful magic in runeterra) Bard (celestial entity not bound by normal physics) Draven (Kappa) Kindred (literally death itself) Lissandra (immortal being with supernaturally granted powers) Syndra (potentially limitless magic capabilities) TahmKench (another seemingly immortal demonic entity) Xerath (most powerful Ascendant, not restrained by regional power like the others) Zilean (immortal entity of indeterminate power).

Kappiste11/14/2015, 8:50:22 PM1 votes

Zilean being a time-mage seems like it'd open up gigantic possibilities as far as lore-bound power goes. Ekko's seems more limited, being tied to technology. Then there's Bard who appears able to affect the world as a whole and be present in many places.

Darius Strada11/14/2015, 8:53:14 PM1 votes

Azir Nasus Renekton Xerath Kindred Braum Bard Aatrox Anivia MonkeyKing Jax Lissandra I believe they're the most powerful lorewise

LordHippoman11/14/2015, 11:30:26 PM1 votes

Aatrox is a nigh immortal being who has had a significant impact in the history of nearly every city-state, and his sheer presence turns random, barely trained armies into unstoppable forces of bloodshed and destruction.

It's probably Aatrox, but there are like, no stories that feature him aside from his bio, probably because he's so blatantly overpowered lorewise.

Shroom Junkie11/15/2015, 2:58:59 AM1 votes

Xerath is a Demigod with powers of such being locked down. Imagine him unbound.

However, Cho'gath gets bigger and stronger as he devours, and he can literally devour and become as large as worlds and continue eating and eating worlds to become the ultimate creature that, if he was our size, we could basically be an atom. And bigger.

CHOLACTUS! pro photoshop

Also, Bard is basically a god-spirit-thing... so either him or Xerath probably, and if gods can actually be beaten, Cho'gath.

Passionlip11/16/2015, 2:18:38 PM1 votes

Rammus It's pretty strong on itself - pretty much unkillable by both sword or magic, he can force even the most experienced mage to go and attack him up close and be impaled on his spikes. Most of all, he can CREATE EARTHQUAKES from nothing - imagine him going around on a city doing nothing except walking, seeing the buildings around him going down one after the other.

Stephenizgod11/19/2015, 6:12:41 AM1 votes

Everyone forgets Brand... isnt he some ancient undying Fire Demon hellbent on purging the world with fire?
