I for one, like the new Varus lore

His old lore always seemed really cliche and overall weird to me. Just the standard, "you killed my family, prepare to die" kind of thing. Plus, his whole "sense of duty vs. his love of family" conflict just seemed fake. Like, you let your family die in order to protect the temple that contains the ancient evil, and then when they die you're just like, "welp. Guess I'll let their deaths be in vain and let the ancient evil out."

The new lore adds a lot of depth to why Varus (Valmar) did what he did, and what kind of person has the ability to resist a darkin. Plus, I really like the way Riot is doing the whole Varus vs. Kai and Valmar scenario. It's an interesting contrast to how Kayn and Rhaast fight.
