Yordles being a subrace of Vastaya makes no sense

It makes sense for them to be similar races seeing as how they're humanoid-animalistic fae races, but yordles were around first.

Yordles were before humans (look at Gnar), humans were before Vastaya (The Vastaya were a chimeric race, the originals having once been humans), yordles can't have been an offshoot of Vastaya.

So calling yordles Vastaya doesn't add up considering they were around before the Vastaya. Xayah, stop telling yordles to do Vastaya things when they aren't Vastaya.

"Yordles are the reason no one takes us Vastaya seriously." Ya...ummm...I think you are the one misinterpreting lines here. There is nothing in the above line, or any of the lines, that indicate any character saying Yodles are a subrace of Vastaya. This line instead makes it sound like the people of Runeterra actually lump Yodles and Vastaya together as the same thing. They are both magical furries that the humans know next to nothing about. Add to the fact that mankind has more interaction with Yordles that Vastayan, then it's easy to follow the line of thought of "How I treated a Yodle this way, I can/should treat a Vastayan this way aswell." In a way this is actually like saying all Asians are the same and trying to use your knowledge of Japan when interacting with a Chinese or Korean.

Yordle are more like Fae or Spirits. Xayah's quote just implied that Yordld's activities of being annoying tricksters, caused a negative view of the Vastayan Race.

Hm, I'm not so sure that Xayah is saying that yordles are vastaya. In fact, I think it's because yordles AREN'T vastaya that Xayah is annoyed with them. It's possible that humans, in the world of Runeterra, might occasionally mistake yordles as a form of vastaya. Since both races apparently aren't all that well-known to most humans, that would mean that most humans would be liable to get them confused if they didn't know the differences. Based on appearance alone, you could easily mistake someone like say Teemo (who is very furry) with a vastaya. I think Xayah's line about "yordles being the reason we vastaya aren't taken seriously" could be a reflection of this. So it's more a case of Xayah actually saying "you're NOT vastaya and people should stop thinking you are."

The vastaya's origins can be traced back to a hidden corner of Ionia where a group of humans fled in escape of the Great Void War. There, these refugees came into contact with a tribe of intelligent shapeshifting creatures who were greatly in tune with the world's natural magicks. These spiritual creatures, known as the Vasthayshai'rei, welcomed the human refugees and eventually produced what Runeterrans now refer to as vastaya - a blanket classification for any number of species of chimeric creatures. Over time, the varied offshoots began to settle in different regions and naturally adopted different forms - Wukong simian, avine, even Nami piscine - according to the creatures which most embodied their strongest characteristics.

Apparently Vastaya is a blanket term for anthros
