But yeah, that's what I'm getting from the context we have received. But it does make me curious if they were actual "beings" before, and then had to fuse with the weapon, which then leads to having to take over a new host. Like was there an original host that was Rhaast and he just so happened to prefer the scythe hence him becoming the scythe for whatever reason, or has Rhaast always been the scythe?
