at lvl 1 it takes 40sec to set it up. so I'm going to say no.

correct, 40sec later you can take the camp.

but, if you smite the camp you take it instantly. so I guess he can instantly steal the other junglers buff? but they can probably just take yours in the time it takes you to clear...

agreed that taking the buff can be a major setback for the other jungler, but this champ seems to have almost no ability to hold his own in a 1v1 fight for the majority of the game.

so I just see it extremely likely for him to be invaded and killed in his own jungle a lot buy most of the popular jungle choices

And then they just invade him and repeatedly reset the jungle camp while he tries to do it, since Ivern seems to have no 1v1 potential at least in early, nor does it seem likely he could take jungle monsters otherwise (or at least, by any fast means).

I wouldn't call that a "fast clear". Almost any Jungler with 1-2 Items will outspeed him (if this doesn't get faster with higher level).

true, but other junglers can't take a buff and leave another copy for an ally. That's what he gets for a slower clear time. Once he hits lvl 5.

Considering the delay from his passive, it's a lot of time without access to exp and shit.

If they're able to farmed while he has his grove on them, that means they can be easily stolen late-game, too.

Well you can use smite to instantly clear a camp,which helps to get a level up early on and you can clear multiple camps at once.

I love how Riot continues to create unique kits for new champions. Their ideas are limitless, it's a wonderful thing. I have to say though...if I run into Ivern on the Rift, I might have a mini heart attack. His strut is something out of a horror movie, and that golum-like creature reminds me of Tibbers, which reminds me of death...RIP Junglers.

ME?! No, I didn't. I got to playtest it over a year ago, but haven't had the pleasure since! (I'm hoping to buy a copy for my gaming group to play.) Might be able to volunteer to help with a thing for them for the near future, but nope - I am not part of the awesome team that made it :)

If you've played Robo Rally, then imagine that, but crossed with something like Mice and Mystics for the story-missions and the co-op elements. I.e. it's a 'programming' game but you're trying to work together to achieve whatever the goal is for the particular mission you're on!

I'm honestly incredibly excited because Ivern is shaping up to be the first champion that actually "breaks" in-game set rules. Junglers need to kill things/take Smite? Nah.

Not to mention how would he control objectives like dragon and baron without smite? I doubt he can channel and "free" Dragon and baron. He probably still needs smite.
