Irelia, Soraka and Kindred

Reading Irelia's (slightly) updated lore, I am reminded she was "cursed by necromancy" and Soraka "anchored" her "fading soul".

How does Kindred play into this? Were they not there to seize Irelia at the moment of her death? Did Soraka cheat them out of a soul? Are they angry with Soraka for saving that which should have died, or is it accepted by them?

... Would Irelia have chosen wolf? I imagine she would've.

It's better to understand the context in how Kindred chooses souls. They very well may understand the totality of fate - both in being able to perceive and influence it. That a soul falls into the boundary between life and death may draw their attention, but only as a point of reference.

In other words, Kindred is aware of when Irelia was near death, but never appeared because it wasn't in her fate to meet death. Or, if you prefer to avoid involving fate, Kindred never became aware of Irelia because she didn't cross the threshold. For Kindred to be angry at those who save lives is pointless - literally any doctor, medicine, or intervention would anger them. Their hunt is the entirety of your life, not just a singular moment.

If anything, it was probably a tease.

In my opinion Riot did not even consider Irelia lore regarding Kindred, or if they did they just created an excuse and let it go.

I say this because binding Irelia soul to the blade is... conceptually random. The event was random. The partecipation of Soraka was random. The results were random and shallow, for such a deep and potentially meaningful ritual.

Unless they plan to redo Irelia background and keep the whole phylactery thing, i don' t think it will have much influence.
