According to Irelia's background: "Zelos became a sergeant in the Ionian military and left to seek assistance from Demacia immediately prior to Noxus' invasion of Ionia."
Not that this means anything but I'm interested in seeing Zelos become a champion. Instead we're kinda treated to a throwaway line in the lore, where he's off to Demacia and then never mentioned or heard from again.
Irelias whole backstory is pretty old and underdeveloped so this is no surprise or bizzare exception.
Zelos isn't the main character of her story either.
Its very possible Zelos will just flat out be removed from Irelia's lore, it really depends on what direction they go (Irelia currently had to fight and lead because her brother was gone). He could still become a full character though.
I have four words for you:
I Want Kassadin's Daughter
Has flashbacks to people demanding Zelos and Kassadin's daughter every champ release.
Haha! Used to be lots of discussions like these back when Zelos was first mentioned... good times.
However, the further we've gotten from that time, the elss I'm sure I want to see that. I just don't want Zelos to overshadow Irelia. I think there are ways of doing this (Kayle and Morgana, Lux and Garen, Cassiopeia and Katarina, etc).
I might just want to see Zelos as a supporting character rather than a playable champion.
In ANY case, I doubt we'll hear ANYthing about this before Irelia gets her rework and they update her lore then. I know they like her theme, so maybe there won't be a dramatic change.
But for the record, I'd like to keep Irelia as a zombie, Riot!
