So I was looking at the new comic and the first thing to come in mind is how much he looks like Guts. His hair, how buff he was, and the fact that it starts with him and a blonde dude wanting to conquer the world. Was the creator of darius reading berserk?
His abilities and playstyle are inspired by Mogul Kahn also known as ''Axe'' from the original Dota, his characteristics, personality etc may be inspired by Guts but i see Garen also fitting to this role with the weapon choice.

Darius borrows the face. The physique isn't so unique and he lacks his most distinctive body feature, a false forearm with a falconet in it. Beyond that, Darius lore is steeped more in patriotism and devotion to strength while all of Guts life was about survival. Darius would be more comparable to Boscogne than Guts from Berserk soldiers. The champ who most closely ties into the essence of how Guts fights is Tryndamere. Giant sword, furious pace, absolute unwillingness to die, and capable of feeding off blood lust to stay up.
