The Age of the Protectorates and the Magelords

Hi There! I don't know if anyone knows much about the Protectorates and the Magelords, but they were a race bent on war with each other before Demacia and Noxus were empires founded in Valoran. I was wondering if anyone knew much information about the two cultures (aside from what is in the League Wiki) because I am trying to get a base knowledge on these two races.

The Protectorate, whose symbol was the Stag, is found in the Summoner's Rift map and represents the Blue Side of the Rift. The Magelords, whose symbol is the Owl, is also found in the map to represent the Red Side of the Rift. There is definitely a potential to explain some history there, and I would love to see it!
