Could the Void be... under our feet?

I know the old canon makes it pretty clear that The Void is another plane of existence. But, given the retcon and that they haven't really gotten fully to The Void yet, could this hellish analogy now be the case? No one knows where those ominous portals lead to. Could the Lovecraftian horrors rest deep bellow? There has been efforts to bind the lore to a single world. Lets list what indications towards this there may be.

  1. Baron Nashor. I think it's pretty clear now that the Baron hails from The Void. He's purple, he spits poison and he has corrupted half of SR. Where does he live? Under ground.
  2. The daylight! It burns! Void creatures hates the sunlight, much like subterranean creatures would. Coincidence? I think not!
  3. Your races are a scourge upon the world! Notice the world, not *this *world. Why would he say that if he is from elsewhere?
  4. Your souls will feed the Void! Death is not the end for you, I have seen to it. For eternity, you are mine! Reminds one of another *bellow *where souls are tortured for eternity. Could Valoran have it's own hell?
  5. Rek'Sai & the Xer'Sai. The most recent in the line of Void creatures we have the burrowing queen of the sands of Sai. Her favorite thing? Digging. Lots of digging.
  6. Cho'Gath. A yet unexplained phenomenon occurs when this creature stomps his feet. Spikes. From the ground!
  7. Vel'Koz. A giant eyeball, suspiciously suited to a subterranean darkness. What does his Void Rift tear through? The ground.
  8. Malzahar. The Purple Prophet summons portals to the dark realm of his masters. Where does his Null Zone go? To the GROUND.
  9. Kog'Maw. Caustic spit would be useful for digging. Also, he eats everything, probably including dirt.
  10. Kassadin. The Void's self-appointed nemesis refuses to even let his feet touch the ground. Such dedication!

I have ten things, how could I be wrong.

No but seriously, there's not that much supporting it I guess. Could this theory hold water at all, in your minds?

I don't see why the Void being the core of Runeterra couldn't be the case (magic is the solution to everything that ignores the laws of physics), but I don't think Riot will adopt it. It's hard enough for them to write a decent description for a single champion, nowadays, let alone add... actual lore...

  1. The real Baron is a void spawn, the SR one is a copy.
  2. Cho's line is a reference, same as the "No I don't live under a bed".
  3. Void spawn never seem to go back to the void, therefore whatever world they live in seems to be theirs.
  4. It's a typical thing for evil being to say.
  5. That's her thing, Kha'zix evolves, that his thing, other void untes don't evolve.
  6. Spike for his face when he autos also.
  7. Eyeballs are the opposite of ideal for subterranean living, in fact, creatures that live underground will lose most if not all eyesight.
  8. He also uses a spell named "Call of the void" which is a two portals appearing in mid air. Void confirmed for being hot air.
  9. He only eats organic creatures.
  10. He does touch the ground, he likes to tippy toes ballet style around.

Baron is without a doubt from the void. if you ever click on him and read his buff its called Void corruption. So he is definitely from the void now.

...So I said "Maaaaaannn, that's not an incomprehensibly alien gap in existence, that's the Void!" I took it and threw it UNDERGROOOUUUUNNNNNDDDDDDD!!!!!!

On a serious note, I think the theory that the Void is located underground is a little unlikely, but it could be worked into passable credibility. If I had to explain the subterranean origin of Void spawn, I'd be inclined to say that there is a large source of dark, corrupting magic in the rock below Icathia, killing most life and twisting organisms that survive being exposed to it. Perhaps the ancient Icathians uncovered caverns filled with the magical source when digging for wells or precious minerals, discovering their trans-formative properties when ordinary creatures who wandered into them were killed or modified. They built a religion on the phenomenon, but were all eventually killed by seeping fumes and the Void spawn. Such a theory, while unsatisfying, could explain why Kassadin and Malzahar were transformed by simply entering the city, and why Void spawn tend to burrow or keep away from bright light.

Interesting. Now to somehow fit Kha'Zix in there. Guess you need to evolve a lot if you're from some sort of underworld...

I believe it is better related to the Void transforming/corrupting other worlds to become part of the void. The Void and Valoran are sepperated except for the occasional rifts that seem to become more and more common. This could be seen as the Void having more ability to enter Valoran since it is becoming infested with the Void.

I believe the Void is somewhat like a planetary fungi/ virus. It only needs to open one portal to screw you over. Valoran's original portal was probably what happened to Icathia. That original Portal releases "spores" that create other portals that the Void can expand with. More portals opening means more "spores" released, inturn causing new portals.

baron isn't the actual baron, at least in the old lore, the baron on SR is actually just a manifestation of the real thing, which the league ruled is too powerful for champions.

I suppose it's a nice theory but Riot seems to be set on the idea that the void is another dimension. Cho'gath's lore supports this, and Riot actually had to have a conversation regarding if the void had a tunnel-able terrain for Rek'sai, as was answered in her Q&A. So it's a different world; just a very different and alien one.

Well here's a theory, the void could be creating rifts in the world of valoran. In the guardian sea there could be such a void. Further evidence all void champs usually use a type of opening to cast their spells. Even the item ZZ'Rot portal requires opening a portal.
