Question: Is Traditional Gangplank really just young Gangplank?

Source of question: Both Gangplanks murdered their fathers, inheriting the ships and gangs/parties they ran. Additionally, new Gangplank shows age especially in his Captain skin, graying hair and wrinkles at the face, unlike Old Gangplank, which seems to be in his twenties to his thirties. Time passing can also be proven as Captain Gangplank was the dictator of Bilgewater until being overthrown by Ms. Fortune, unlike Old Gangplank, who was just a feared pirate among the seas. These following might not be relevant, for consistency of the game: both Gangplanks added something to their swords(Old soaked it in some kind of grog, Captain/Classic tipped their swords in an extremely flammable liquid or bound an extremely flammable metal to the end), they both have habits to eat an extreme amount of oranges, and wear red coats with a white undershirt(at least captain did.).
