This the first time I didn't enjoy a Riot rework from an artistic/story standpoint

It is hard the find the words, but old Yorick really did have a certain charm to him. He was so simple, he had a shovel to dig graves, a lantern to help him see so he could dig graves, and nothing but tattered rags to cover himself. He probably never took those rags off in all his years of digging graves. He didn't care about good or evil, just digging graves, and that is all he did and all he'd ever want to do, dig graves. I might be jumping the gun, or plainly just being a baby, but I feel like this might be the first lore rework that wasn't what I was hoping for.

I will remember Yorick Mori.

I think you are just going through rebootidis. It's a thing that going to come with every reboot. Though I would say Yorick won't be the yorick from before. If you don't like the direction their going now they aren't going to change much. Probably expect dissapointment about the change. Sounds cynical but better set a low standard than spaz out when the changes do come.

I think the big reason why this did not keep the simple Yorick(no idea how else to say it) is do to how much the Shadow isles have change over the years. It not just some undead places but a real power now a days.
If he simple a gravedigger then why are we playing him then? I cant really think of one champion that I will say have a simple live. I guess he could be sort of a joke hero like Rammus(Lore only) but I dont think that really fit Yorick as well.

Makes sense why you're disappointed. The old Yorick and the new one are pretty much two totally different people, so if you got attached to the old one you probably wont like the new one. That being said, I do wish they stuck with the gravedigger aspect to not completely throw his old lore out the window but hey, I guess some religion or country out there would have a problem with that just like Graves cigar so they tossed it.
