so any thoughts you can give us on the monkey king Wukong like what would maybe hold back the chance for a VU or is he all set lore and everything else wise just not as high on the list of priorities.

They already gave him a texture update, though his default skin clearly got the best treatment. I wouldn't mind seeing more stuff about him though, since his past hasn't been explained much and all we have to go with is the guy he is based on. "why doesn't master Yi spin to win, or use nimbus clouds, or create after images of himself? Where did Wukong learn THESE techniques?"

Like all arts, Wuju has many techniques.

The way of using a staff is always different from using a sword.

Nimbus strike, could be seen as a first step to Alpha Strike

I get that, and Nimbus Strike makes sense, but not the rest of his toolkit.

If he learned from Yi, you'd assume his abilities would be variants of Yi's own moves, but they're not. He has no meditation (even as a joke/taunt), has no buff abilities, and nothing that connects him too much to Yi/Wuju besides his quotes.

To be honest there aren't that many things in his kit that you could relate to you. The only 2 spells I can think of that relate to Yi's kit is his Q and E. The Q is basically Yi's E but in the enhance state.

But really thats it, Yi doesn't spin or use a decoy, so why does Wukong?

Simple, Wukong hasn't mastered Wuju as well its Wukong. What does Wukong being Wukong have to do with Wuju style? Alot of things, first off he didn't have the same motivation as Yi does for perfecting and mastering Wuju, Wukong just finds it interesting and wanting to be the best. Secondly, and the most obvoius, Wukong is Wukong, hes going to add his own spin to things ( get it? ) so of course there is going to be varients in how he uses Wuju style.

Take his decoy for instance, sure on the outside his decoy and Yi's Meditate seem completly different. But if you look at what they both accomplish you can start to see the simalirties, they both are a way to lure the enemy into letting there guard down, right before they get the finishing blow off they can use their spells to turn the tables.

Sure on the outside there spells seem completely different, but its not about how you get to the end of your journey but rather When you get to your journey.

He actually mediates in his death animation right before he turns to stone. He also gets a attack speed buff from his nimbus strike.

I actually feel like a lot of their skills have a pretty good thematic link, if only in their purposes:

Crushing Blow and Wuju Style both buff AA's, and the auto-attack reset on Crushing Blow functions similarly to Double Strike, Nimbus Strike is like the small-scale version of Alpha Strike and it buffs attack speed like Yi's ult, Decoy kinda fits with the whole "magic-based defensive ability" theme that Meditate has going on, Stone Skin gives more defense like Meditate. As for the Spin2win, the most I can say is that it gives a slight movespeed buff.

Like Anax said, Wuju style has a lot of techniques. It definitely feels like, to me at least, both of them are using the same basic abilities of Wuju style, but using them in different ways through different techniques that match their own unique skills and abilities. Again, like Anax said, the way of using a staff is always different from the way of using a sword.

He's pretty far down the road of potential VUs I think. Would really love to hear what they think could be done with him though. His overall design is really outdated (armor skirt, noodle limbs etc) and his Texture Update didn't help much.

Really think they can make him a much more legendary character akin to Nasus and Renekton or even just develop him thematically. Atm he's really unpopular and vastly disliked by the majority of players. Can't keep up with ninjas and samurais I guess.
