I think the new Star Guardian skins are really cool

You guys can all complain and be sad little sacks because you don't want anything that goes a bit off the lines for a normal Star Guardian skin, but I think you should give these skins a chance.

Xayah and Rakan seem to have really cool lore and they only have one skin available for purchase each, and legendary skins? Come on, you can't hate the way these skins look. On top of it, they'll probably have amazing voiceovers.

Neeko only has one skin for purchase currently and her skin is absolutely beautiful. The only complaint I have is that her prestige skin is a bit too similar to the regular skin, but I honestly don't care too much about prestige.

Fricking Zoe has such a cute skin with the little octopus turning into the puddle from the bubble and her corrupting the other Star Guardians, I feel, makes way for amazing lore.

So while you guys act like little entitled children when these skins go leaps and bounds over what the previous Star Guardian skins have done. These skins have actually given a deeper lore to the Star Guardian universe. Before these skins, the Star Guardians were just pretty girls who protected the universe from who knows what. Now, there's actually a meaningful plot to this universe, being to save their partners from Zoe's corruption.

So yeah.

I like Neeko's skin not gonna lie. But the rest are shits. Specially Xayah and Rakan. The fuck ? they just don't deserve the skin and it doesn't fit them. They need to be a SG not black SG. LoL

I love that they tried something more than the formulaic repetition they had going earlier.

As a Neeko player though, her skin is very much not my cup of tea.

That's what made the skinline popular. Take away that and it's no longer SG. Most of us dgaf about lore, we pay for freakin skins, it's all about how they look. These pseudo sg arent bad but they are not sg.

You have some points, but you're also missing one major one - themes. The reason Star Guardians does well is because it's always presented a theme of magical girl shows, and while it's campy, has some elements of perky do-gooders and all that jazz. But then, in typical Riot fashion, they go and sully the skin line with darkness and corruption, because Riot is 100% incapable of writing or developing worlds that don't immediately have to have all the happy things corrupted and dark. That's the major issue here. It's not that they've added villains to the Star Guardian lore, it's that these villains are corrupted Star Guardians, which just leaves an ugly sour taste in the mouth of people who like magical girl themes and were expecting a stiffer divide between the evil and the heroes. Furthermore, they've added yet MORE corrupted villains to one of their skin verses, and it's starting to get super old, cause Riot crutches on that bit of story telling A LOT.

Darkin - Former Ascended, became corrupted by greed and power hunger.

Odyssey - Kayn has corrupted the Ora by consuming it. Zed has corrupted himself by infusing himself with Ora.

Dark Star/Cosmic - Jhin was once a Cosmic, but got corrupted by the Dark Star.

High Noon - Lucian has corrupted himself by becoming part demon so he can hunt them better.

PROJECT - Jinx was a former PROJECT that went rogue, now is corrupted by the Program.

Star Guardian - Zoe corrupts them looking for a friend.

It's getting tired and old. It's no longer unoriginal, and Riot has been using it in every avenue they can, rather than creating interesting distinct entities of good and evil. I'm tired as hell of corruption in the lore.

Imagine sitting two years in front of your oven, waiting for your pizza to be ready and suddenly you get a cauliflower instead. And you don't like cauliflower that much. Feels pretty bad, especially if you were waiting that long. That's kinda the case with Rakan and Xayah.

Because PROJECT: got nothing for lore. Just benign inferences from quotes off of a 1850 RP skin and an advertisement..
