Maybe my lore is outdated, as I'm reading it from here just to confirm what I thought was his lore. It still references summoners and such so it's obviously not cannon anymore but from what this is (as it's all I have to go off of), Jax is literally the strongest 1v1 (human) entity in the league.

Jax > Kayn in the lore simply because Jax is painted to be a literally unbeatable opponent

That would make sense if we still were to believe in the old lore. But there is no way Jax could 1v1 some champions in the current lore. For example: AurelionSol , Malphite , Kindred .

Well Kindred is the representation of death. AurelionSol Crafted the Stars, hes almost a God. Bard is an interdimentional time being, so a God too. Soraka a fallen astral being Mordekaiser inmortal magical armor Janna Goddess of wind in zaun, kind of Kayle An angel Morgana a fallen angel Anivia an eternal cryo-phoenix, have doubts on this one

This might be the only champs that Jax should struggle or wouldn't be able to beat

Kayn in the other hand could lose to half of the roster easily

In LoL maybe, but not in LoL lore, that would be Illaoi's God, an actual god who is truly omnipotent and more powerful than all the other champs combined. Sol is no more than an ant to them and being immortal Kindred has no hold on them.

It is an insult, not actually accurate. I believe that a Rioter compared Aurelion Sol to a gnat on the carpet when talking about Nagakabouros. Aurelion Sol does a lot of bluffing. Apparently he did not actually make most of the stars, only a few of them even though he says differently.

Also keep in mind Sol is neither immortal (Simply ancient beyond belief), Unique (I believe he was part of a race of star dragons according to one comment but don't quote me on that), Omnipotent, nor had power beyond his plane. Even just compared to Bard Aurelion Sol isn't very God-Like since he is bound to this plane (By his nature, not via Targonian magic) whereas Bard can move between dimensions.

If Nagakabouros even has a physical body and isn't just sentient power that spans all the dimensions is another questions in itself, personally I doubt it though they may take a form if Nagakabouros were to appear before someone.

Also note that the line could possibly be referring to Nagakabouros being false, and a God. We don't actually know what their motives are for sure, and it is possible that Sol believes Nagakabouros is lying to it's followers and deceiving them about it's intentions. Though that would probably be a more heretical viewpoint rather than something Aurelion Sol actually knows for sure due to the vast limits of his power. He doesn't really have any ways to gather information on Nagakabouros even if he wanted to.

Sol is limited by the Targonians, so he is weak atm. Soraka is now a mortal healer. Janna doesn't even have a physical form? I am sure Kayle and Morg will have a lore update later which nerf them as a sub-cat of Vastaya.

Karthus is already dead. What is dead may never die, so I will give the crown to him. What can defeat a ghost after all? You may crash his planet, but the spirit remains.

That's why I specified that Jax is likely the strongest 1v1 human entity in the league, because there are obvious creatures in the league that he'd lose to.

There are several gods and monsters that stand over 4 stories tall that can be found in the league that Jax wouldn't realistically be able to even scratch. But Kayn...when it comes down to it he's just a human. Enhanced by things sure, but he is just a human and he does have faults.

Ah, you did mention human. My bad. But still, not everything is a duel of weapons. In Kayn's story he uses magic to jump inside of someone and kill him. I don't think Jax would have any way of stopping that. I would also think some other champs could possibly get the drop on him for a kill (ninjas, snipers).

the thing about Jax is that no one knows where his power comes from, or if he even has power. For all we know he could really just be a perfect fighting machine of a man, or he could be the product of some incredible magic that made Jax an unstoppable monster beneath his shroud and behind his mask.

Jax himself could have powers greater than that of Kayn. Hell, he could be stronger than Aurelion himself for all we know.

Maybe he's just downplaying his powers to play around in the league. Maybe he isn't showing any obvious magic (only enough to win every single fight he's put up against) for some agenda? We don't know

The only thing we do know is that Jax has incredible talent with weapons and has never lost a single fight in the league. How? Don't know, but his reputation outweighs Kayn's talents imo.

If Kayn could win every fight he's put up against, he'd have at least conquered Zed's clan, if not Noxus or something larger if he chose. Jax hasn't shown any ambition for anything so, for all we know, Jax could literally have God-Status powers that he hasn't blatantly shown yet.

We don't know if he is magic but we do know he was at least altered by it, or more specifically the void. Jax is from Icathia, and it is due to the void's influence on him that he has lived so long, that plus his 6 eyes and the fact that he hides his body implies multiple other effects on him.

Agreed. I think it'd be pretty neat if it ended up (after his eventual VGU) that Jax took his lamp post from Demacia and it's made of that anti-magic stone they have so he could fight against magic attacks.

By the way, I don't think Kayn has any intention of conquering Zed's clan. He has mad respect for Zed and wants to eventually be named the new head. Maybe if Zed said he would never be the head Kayn would snap.

Well, if you consider him to still be human, new Urgot would probably stomp Jax in a 1v1, though that's completely due to the kind of weapons he has.

As for Kayn, maybe full shadow assassin form could beat Jax, and I think full on Rhaast would with no problem at all (though he's not human).

that really all depends on if Jax could still be considered Human after his alterations in his time in Icathia. This also depends on what kind of power he has, where the source is from, or if he even has power. I think Jax has the potential to beat Urgot simply because we have no idea what limitations or powers Jax even has.

As far as I can tell there is no evidence what-so-ever of Jax having any kind of power beyond skill, so I'm under the impression that he doesn't have any kind of magic abilities. He's just really, really, really, really (and a lot more really's) good at fighting. Urgot on the other hand doesn't need to be. He can just shoot him once with those massive bullets of his and blow Jax's body to pieces.

He's a survivor of Icathia though. This guy isn't just good at fighting normal people, he's survived the portal into the Void and presumably several void creatures.

Let me put this into perspective:

Icathia is a place that is assumed to have been destroyed by the Void and it's powers. Icathians worshiped the Void, and creatures of the Void were idols and even gods to them. Icathia fell to the Void with presumably no survivors...except Jax. Since this time there have only been 2 people to even experience Icathia and survive the trip, ( Malzahar and Kassadin ), both underwent extreme bodily changes and gained powers after managing to get out.

Jax did much more than just visit Icathia though, he survived it's downfall after living through it. He survived the portal to an unknown dimension that had the power to wipe a city out of existence. I think it's safe to assume that Jax (who has at least had bodily changes in the form of skin alteration) also has gained powers, likely much stronger than Malzahar and Kassadin, but it may not be as obvious as those two's as well.

But still, other than surviving the Void, there is not even the slightest evidence of him having powers. The only kind of super power I'd believe Jax has (without seeing others) is superhuman reflexes and maybe strength.

Jax has also shown a lack of ambition, he's had very little reason to use any form of powers. Just because he hasn't shown them doesn't mean he lacks powers. We know he is old too, to have survived the fall of Icathia and still be in perfect conditions today he's got to be near immortal.

The chances of him having powers is almost guaranteed if we follow the same model as the two later examples, and there are good chances that his powers are stronger than Malzahar and Kassadin as he experienced the fall first-hand.

I'm basically willing to bet that Jax has powers of some kind in some form and that chances are he has just been wise enough to not publicize it.

This prodigy of weapons, a perfect being when it comes to battles of weapons and is likely to have powers greater than that of Kassadin and Malzahar vs. a prodigy student from the master of shadows with the power of a Darkin to help him

It's close by those standards, but because we lack any knowledge just how strong Jax is I'm willing to bet on him. He's also far more experienced than Kayn as well.

Before Rhaast, I would've definitely said Jax. WITH Rhaast, though, it's more questionable. Jax is preternaturally good with weapons and regular ol' instruments he pretends are weapons, but Rhaast is a nigh unstoppable demon-blade.

Don't underestimate Jax. In previous lore, he was a living legend and in current lore he seems to have survived to fall of Icathia, which either occured due to a world rune, a Void invasion, or a war with the Ascended, all being huge threats.

I don't know about Jax not having magic. From the looks of it, he's been somewhat corrupted by the Void (He's from Icanthia, and from what we know having three-fingered, purple hands isn't usual) It's possible that the Void corruption may enhance him physically. And his W seems to use magic in some way.

Kayn is currently fighting with a with another monstrosity of a demon item, and takes time. hell he even needs the weapon to consume him to become more durable, and its clear while it said he mastered a ton of weapons of war, he hasn't used nearly the same items as Jax has tried. Hell, Jax can use his fists as lethal instruments from what we've known. Jax can will himself to take more punishment and actually makes his weapons forcefully hit harder and stronger WITHOUT EVER BREAKING THEM . Take that into account. He has been slamming a lamp post on armor relatively the same strength as Garen 's with little to no stopping him from K.O.ing his opponent. He even outdueled Fiora , who can quite seriously pierce through vitals in a single lunge. Kayn can infest his opponent, but compared to a guy who actually not only uses stupid as hell weapons to take out his target, without simultaneously breaking them on anything (fishing pole on solid steel), Jax is superior here. He hasn't only mastered weaponry, he's mastered himself and the laws of physics as we know it.

Honestly i feel that jax is simply better from reading his lore. He would most likelybiew kayn as challenge but in the end would ultimately defeat him. For rhasst I believe that jax isnt that desperate as to pick him up but if he were to jax would probably counquer rhaast tho his weapons training and his void corruption.

Its kind of an assumption because in jax short story it states he was from icathia and that he is trying to fight the void. So void exposure would be the most plausible explanation for his appearance.
