The Darkin Race

Lately I have seen some very peculiar posts about the Darkin race as a whole. Some things that caught my attention is why the race is near extinction and if they are supposedly so powerful why are they almost to extinction. Well, my theory (this is merely a theory) is that there was some type of internal conflict. There must have been a civil war between the race as a whole caused by a power struggle. Civil war would make since that they are supposedly immortal beings. If they are then that would have to be of age, but can still be killed or wounded by the mysterious "killers" of life (Disease, sickness, other beings). Theory 1 (Civil War): I believe that Aatrox, being a being all about war, was either someone who would have started the rebellion. I mean he seems to me as someone who does not simply like to take orders from someone higher up, but as someone who is a leader. So with his overwhelming power to turn people's minds into rage for war, I believe he gathered his own army of sorts to overthrow the leader of their race. Thus causing a civil war. This would make sense as to why they would be to near extinction. Theory 2 (Civil War): My second idea is that the race was a tribe type civilization setup. Eventually they had a civil war between each tribe over some reason. This would also lead to the Darkin race to become almost extinct. In the aftermath of battle, the remaining few probably saw what had become of their "master race" persay and decided to cease all actions of war. So, they went their own separate ways. Later, they would become myths all around Runeterra. Again this is my own little rendition of why the Darkin race is near to extinction. Aatrox is currently my favorite character when it comes to lore.So, if you do criticize, let it be constructive.
