There are bits and pieces of his lore scattered on the background. From the sounds of it, he disagreed with all 3 sisters and went off by himself to build his kingdom separate from the rest of the Freljord.

That would also mean he's ancient, if he's lived long enough to talk to the Serilda, Avarosa and Lissandra way back when, which would imply he's a) not a human, b) iceborn like Lissandra or c) blessed in some way with an extended lifespan.

Maybe a Freljordian yordle? It could be a twist on the typical fantasy dwarf that lives on the mountains forging things by making him the already established short-people-race
