Bios and Stories for Xayah and Rakan have been released!
Take a look at our dynamic vastaya duo!
Take a look at our dynamic vastaya duo!
Rakan has massive amounts of ADHD, Zed is apparently running more than a ninja clan (and shadow magic seems to have more applications than Zed uses it for, but I doubt many people can make shadow constructs or clones) and they use guns (not sure if they are hextech though).
I'm glad we get to see more of the dark side of Ionia. It really helps paint how divided and on edge the place is after the Noxian invasion. Actually makes me more interested in an area I had little interest in at first.
Rakan saw a dog once and I for one am VERY excited about it.

Rakan still is as well.
wait what?
Read his bio. It has this very important information in it.
unless i'm reading the wrong thing, I'm seeing no mention of a dog.
Sorry, not his bio, his short story has this line:
"She nods, and begins telling me the safest path to take. She plans things, which is why I know she will be okay. Wow, the sky is gorgeous right now. That cloud is shaped like an eggplant. I saw a dog once…"
lol oh yeah I see, thanks!
I was surprised with Zed being included.
Their love is also super intense.
He’d better be okay, or I will force a necromancer to resurrect him so I can murder him myself. He knows I’ll do that, too. I’ll figure it out.
lmao
Zed's quite the guy, pissing off Xayah like that.
Xayah probably sees Zed as the generic human, thinks every human is malicious as Zed.
But we have Syndra <3
oh wait...
Joke aside, Zed did not seem that evil when he tried to make a deal with Shen so they can stop Jhin. It felt like he has a purpose and every act he does a twisted path to greater good.
I don't know, maybe he is misunderstood? Not that misunderstood though, he is clearly evil, but dim shade of black.
The thing is Zed has yet to give anything to us that implies he's got really noble intentions in mind, beyond the fact that he was willing to work with Shen to catch Jhin, who they both knew was trouble.
I'd like for him to have some deeper motivations, but right now imprisoning innocent vastaya doesn't paint him or his folks in a good light.
:p I kinda want Zed not be the old power corrupt thing. I kinda want him more anti heroish instead.
At this rate we're not going to have any villains anymore. Everyone wants their main to be a misunderstood anti-hero.

No one can deny the evilness of this characters. They are pure evil.
And there are like champions like

While they are evil, they also potential to be anti-hero. They have some little good sides. Their acts to reach their goal are brutal, which make them still evil but nowhere near to Mordekaiser.
While I think Zed is evil, he also has potential to be anti-hero. We can see that in Jhin's colour text.
Wait, sense when is Veigar "Evil"? Yes he is the dark magic yordle, but he really doesn't fall under the same umbrella of villainy as the others on your list. As far as is current lore goes he was captured by noxians and tortured to the breaking point. Got out, traveled the world gaining magical might, and yet when he returned to bandle city the most he did was try and steal a space ship....by using balloons.... >.>
Also, how do Cassiopia and Sion fall under anti-hero?
I can totally see people saying Brand, Elise, Malzahar, Jhin, Swain, Lissandra, and a few others aren't evil. Brand is a force of nature, Malzahar got his mind imploded by staring into the void, Jhin has a mental sickness and he clearly wants to stop killing but he can't, etc.
Honestly, Xerath is straight up pure evil. I have no love for that guy.
The fact that people can see the same champion and disagree on their morality is a sign of a good character, though
Good and evil are 2 terms that we humans created. They are subjective. I should've said no one should deny rather than no one can deny. But there are norm of good and evil too.
Like, Brand wants to end the world by insufferable pain of fire, without no empathy toward the mortals. He literally doesn't care. He just wants to end world. It looks totally evil to me, I don't know. I mean, If Brand was existed in our real world, no one would ever see him as a neutral guy.
Malzahar on the other hand, knows what he does. Like literally. He chose the Void because he thinks Runeterra is definitely gonna lose. Eventually. So he chose the winner side.
Jhin also knows what he does, but he can't stop it according to him. While It seems like his mental illness is a barrage for the path that goes to the evilness, he is aware everything that he does. Everything. He just says he can't stop. His literally think is ''I have a mental sickness which I can't stop, then oh well, why should I stop it? Let's continue to kill some people because it is orgasmic!'' If he wasn't aware of it like an actual crazy man, I would agree you. Because without advanced self awareness, you can't talk about evilness or goodness. Look at animals.
Xerath...Oh yes. My favourite character. Yes, he is super evil. He is almost Mordekaiser level evil (made a mistake with saying nowhere near to Mordekaiser). He is currently one of the most evil characters of LoL. And there is no redemption for him. But I still trust to WAAARGHbobo. He said his perspective will change and he is not that evil (evil but not we as think).
I think Xerath would definitely fight against the Void, along side with Runeterra. Not a direct ally, but I don't think he would target the humans that fight against the Void either. Xerath is not stupid. That's why I think he has possibility to be anti-hero.

Contrary to popular belief, people with mental illness are usually aware that they're not sane, at least not in the same way most humans are. It doesn't mean it's any easier for them to seek out help. There's many reasons for that and it's not helped by the fact that they sometime overlap or feed into each other.

Well, people can be full of imagination and pretty ideas, but even with the best imagination in the world, I'd be curious to see how they could defend Mordekaiser or Tahm Kench or even Hecarim.
(And I'm with Fasmodey on Xerath having the potential to be anti-hero.)
When I see the day Riot makes an anti-hero out of
,
I will find out who came up with that idea and punsh him in the face cause it was a stupid idea
Zed is, indeed, much more complicated than you think. But he is definitely not a nice person.
Rakan's short story made me instantly love him. Gonna have to buy him when he comes out.
So true. I love how he's never really concentrated on what's happening, sorta tuning back in at the last second and trying to go from there.
Is it just me, or did Coll have a thing for the guard that died, because it written as though she basically divorced her husband after the fact. Rakan basically says, did he not see this coming?

She was emotionally torn by his death, but it looks like the straw that breaks the camel's back in this situation is their difference in opinion on how to help their tribe. She chooses to go North and rally her people while the man decided to seek the Kinkou Order knowing that they are different from the Order of Shadows.
It's pretty sad to see that Xayah and Rakan are generalizing all humans as being evil, manipulative backstabbers. I really hope "freeing" Ionia doesn't mean killing all humans.

I don't think this is true. They see humans as having the potential to be good or bad, but mostly are misguided, greedy, and power-hungry. There are certainly evil ones humans, but not all humans are evil in Xayah or Rakan's eyes.
I'd suspect Rakan cares for humans more than Xayah does. I'd liken her opinion of humans as a strong aversion or "would rather not" vibe. It definitely does not mean killing all humans, but a few eggs gonna have to break.
Well even if neither of them hold a strong hatred for all humans, Xayah didn't make that apparent when the idea of bringing human allies popped up. She immediately sees it as a bad idea, and she thinks the guy is an idiot for suggesting it.
Now that I think about it, would Shen even be considered an ally to Xayah? He's not really a protector of people; he's more of a guardian of balance. What if what Zed is doing is maintaining the balance, or stopping/killing him damages it?
Well every human she did TRY to ally with kinda betrayed her, on top of the shitty things she sees them do on her missions, yeah i'd say she deserves it. Hell in REAL life I hate humans. bunch of scum that are nothing but a plague on the Earth. So yeah, I can feel Xayah. Hell if anything she's too merciful, she actually let some of the guards live. Pathetic.
Well you're human too, so I guess it's okay with you if they just tossed you in with the rest of us. I mean if all humans are scum then you or any other human can't call themselves the exception.
I also understand where you're coming from. Humans can be the cruelest creatures on this planet, but we can also be the kindest. I mean what other species goes out of its way to try and protect the environment for the sake of other livine things?
I did indeed include myself. i'm human and believe me ive done awful things. I'm defnintely not a good person i mean i play league and actively comment on forums so clearly I must enjoy punishment.
but yeah she should lump me in with them, humans suck.
How would they handle meeting the Triumvirate? And how would Jhin react to them? Would Yi and Wukong befriend them?
I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS.
Jhin loves a blank canvas. Nevermind three.
What does that mean?
~Seductive Chiming ~
I was asking about Jhin meeting Rakan and Xayah, but ok.
As for that, how would Jhin even try to dream of competing on the same level as a multi-dimensional spirit warrior who can take on legions on his own and dimension-hop on a dime?

what gives them the right to see humans that way tho? are they any better themselves? what makes them think they are perfect?! that ego is a bit too much.

Absolutely! Flaws and perspective give a character depth.
Gotta love Xayah.... The immature little child on a ill-advised racist crusade against all humans enabled by a vapid yes-man with no spine. Her story is a prime example of the type of character that makes me want to wring their neck 5 min into any movie.
She's basically the league champion version of Westboro baptist church.
Looks interesting to play but that backstory.... *sigh
Did you not read her stuff?? Let's recap. Through her life Xayah was told stories of how great her kind once was. Around her she sees humans moving in and her people losing more and more. No she eventually goes against orders and heads to human villages to TALK TO THEM. Not kill, just talk. What happens? They either assault her and take things, or she defends herself and kills them. Not a very good impression of humans being built here. She gets home only to find her people are gone and shadow magic corrupted a nearby temple. She cleanses it but can still find no trace of her loved ones. She is now very alone in the world. Now she is traveling the land to find answers, having to defend herself with stealth and killing everywhere she goes. As she travels her view of humans isn't exactly helped and she sees little but mistreatment of her kind and thus she slowly becomes the character we see today.
Then we have Rakan, a flamboyant performer who loves attention, dance, and song. He wants to hear the songs of the world and wants the world to hear all of his. One day in a mountain village the 2 cross paths while Rakan is putting on one of his shows. Everyone has fallen under Rakan's spell, except for Xayah. This intrigues him and he follows her, helping her out of an ambush. They spend time together and over time and adventures they grow to truly love each other and have each other's backs. Xayah wants to free her people, not kill all humans in a racist crusade. If killing needs to happen, then it will happen. Rakan is not a spineless yes-man. Rakan is Xayah's emotional support while she in turn gives him focus and purpose in life. If Rakan didn't have Xayah then he would be wandering to this day with no rhyme or reason until he eventually died. If Xayah didn't have Rakan then she would be dead or worse by now. She would not be able to pull of stuff like that prison break, not to mention she would probably fall to the lingering emotional stress she clearly has as shown by the end of their color stories.
So what doesn't shadow magic do?
windows.
windows.
XP or Vista?
Does it make coffee though?
"How could she see him and yet choose not to follow him? It was a puzzle with no easy answer."
kinda arrogant and narcissistic dont you think?sure you might be charming but that doesn't mean everyone should see you that way! i guess this talks about his personality on its own!
but at the end its another story of a guy who falls in love with a girl who dont want him even though countless other woman wants him . and eventually the girl learn to see him differently and get use to him and fall in love with him as well.
im trying to like this but i seen this scenario countless times! but it is the first one in league's universe so i can deal with it.
It comes more from his personal experience. Imagine if you spent your entire life charming people with your dances and personality, with everyone becoming enthralled. Now imagine that one day you see someone who isn't affected by this. That'd be pretty big and confusing, don't you think?

nope i still think its pretty narcissistic of him. its pretty narrow minded (of him) to think that everyone should have the same view and fall for the same performance.(take one of our own extremely popular singers for example , 10 million might like them but you might hate them and dont find them charming at all)
also people only see his performance not his personality which should be enough answer for him.maybe she cares more about who i am than how i dance and look? and that exactly was the case here , she saw him as a buffoon at his performace but when she learned who he was she fell for him!!!! but that leads me to question Xayah's judgement and taste as his personality seems pretty...unappealing , judging by his voicelines!
she is definitely not the only person who didn't fall for him, he just didn't notice them because they didn't catch his own eyes!
I mean, I like Rakan's personality. It's fun, goofy, and yet serious when necessary. He has a lot of depth off hte stage, in my opinion.
On hte topic of him being "narrow minded", think of it this way: you've spent your entire life being told one thing. It might be that god exists, it might be that pluto's a planet, whatever it is. You spend your entire life finding people who agree with you on that that when you eventually find an atheist or someone from a religion that doesn't focus around your god, or people decide that pluto's not a planet, it's going to be confusing. You'll want to figure more out about it. He actually tried to figure out what was going on because people only seemed to be interested in him before (he seems to pick her out not for looks and not noticing him, but just for not being interested), so finding someone who didn't just love him at first sight was new. He wanted to learn more about it. It's sort of like that.
