Not satisfied with fucking with Morde's identity by removing most "metal" effects in his skills during his small rework, they are now trying to change Morde to a generic "Lord of Death" thing. Whoever is responsible for this bullshit, just stay away from lore forever.
If they didn't half ass the rework if they didn't butcher him 1 patch at a time. If they didn't completely ignore playerbase.
If they did a Sion level rework all in one go. I might have been OK with this.

Well he was inevitably gonna be changed due to the whole unifying thematic element to bring his power in line with that of the Shadow Isles. I mean, Hecarim, Karthus, Kalista and Thresh all abide to the same kind of stuff, and it doesn't negatively impact that. If anything "Master of Metal" was actually a contradictory title from a lore standpoint because he was imprisoned in a metal shell. The master of metal is also a slave to it?
Morde's identity is super powerful, super evil undead dude in a suit of iron that enslaves souls. Losing the metal aspect isn't the biggest detriment and honestly it was to be expected considering how out of place among the Shadow Isle's roster of undead he has been since...well Thresh came around and said "guys, this is how we look" and Hecarim was like "this guy gets it!"

They wanted to kill mordekaiser, and they did. THey started by killing his kit, then they killed his abilities and how they looked, now they are killing him completely. Whoever this "lord of death" is, he is not mordekaiser, it is something else.

Saw lore argument. i guess sharjo dose not remember there was actually lore when the game came out that supports mordes title and backstory. they changed the lore on shadowisles and put him there when original lore has him from zuan. Also it was a lot more mysterious and open ended and well written.
Do you even know what Morde's identity is? He's not just a user of metallic material....He's and undead and thats the main thing baout his current identity
Well, if they removed the Metal aspect from his gameplay identity, it stands to reason that they should also remove it from his narrative identity.
The Metal!!! identity is very much loved by Morde's fanbase, but it is also a cheap gimmick that has never been delivered adequately.
