The video shows our next champion Kayn. Judging by the tooltips and ability preview, Kayn's gameplay revolves around battling against the Darkin Rhaast for control and eventually transforming based on who succeeds- one form a Darkin and one a Shadow Assassin.

TzQGRUST396 votesOr possibly it was a faulty transformation akin to the main character of Parasyte. It also could be that different Darkin have different affinities for consuming hosts, thus why Aatrox is a total transformation, Varus seems to be at a complete half and half with his darkin, and Kayn is almost in complete control of Rhaast. We've seen a similar concept with the Targonian Aspects: Atreus was completely consumed by Panth, Diana is about half and half with her aspect, and Leona was mentally unaffected (Just has cool sun powers now).

At this point, all the Darkin weapons (if Varus's turns out to be true) have very similar features. So it's safe to assume that the other two will look like that.
We don't know if they have the ability to shapshift heavily though.
Epicurus6 votesA valid counter-argument. I just really like the idea that behind her smiles Sona is actually struggling with one of the most evil forces in Runeterra, and may be evil herself. If there is a Darkin lore update with the new champ release (dear Nagakabouros I hope there is) then we will know one way or the other. And if the etwahl's a Darkin, then you heard it here first.

Edit: It's 12 days after kayn's reveal, with his bio released as well. And his lore had nothing new to learn about the Darkin, so ... I guess it's now on hold for Aatrox's GU for the end of this year?

- Aatrox mentions that he created him and also he has a really simmilar kit to Aatrox.
- Aatrox is visible in his background picture in his official lol website so they could be releated, altough in his new lore Jax is connected to the Void. Also, can you imagine a Darkin which posesses a lamp?
- Just like Aatrox or our new champion Kayn, he has propably been corrupted by his weapon.
- He has got posessed by a fire spirit which turned him in to his current state, but his mentioned in the shurima lores so he might not be releated.

I think Aatrox sees Tryndamere as a potential new body/host.
Jax, at least his color text let us assume, has probably void-related mutation, since he comes from Icathia before that ever happens to this city.

Her parents were killed by a beautifull horned woman out of the blue, what left her to be bitter and full of hate, similar to the 
interaction. If Aatrox sees Trynda as a suitable future vessel, this misterious horned woman could easily be a darkin and have the same plans for in a close future.

Tbh, I got the exactly same vibes from reading the new Vayne lore as well. We only thing that doesn't fit is that the described demon has no weapon and Sharjo stated that Darkin are trapped in their weapons.

She doesn't have any weapon that we know about, but what about the darkin dagger? a small and easy to miss weapon that vayne wouldn't have seen in the shock of the moment.

As I said, I got the same vibes from it. If this demon is a darkin, I would hope for a crossbow, so it would fit for Vayne. Or maybe the darkin broke free and isn't trapped in her weapon anymore? Nobody knows. Soulstealer Vayne could almost be this kind of future of Vayne.
Maybe it is Evelynn. Only time will tell. And if Riot feels generious to give us actually some canon information.

LunSeiSleidee3 votesSorry, too much Weeaboo Edgelord for my tastes. This character already looks to have been designed for an audience of not-so-bright 12 years olds, just like Xayah and Rakan before him.
I understand that the main audience of LoL are, in fact, not-so-bright 12 years olds.... but they seemed to be doing just fine when this game released cooler, more original characters like Swain or Kindred.
This is the second new champ in a row that looks downright generic, so maybe Riot should just stop and stick to updating the better champions they've released in the past.

I would have preferred if they had made Fiddlesticks LoLs prime scythe user when he gets his VGU....
And the names are a missed opportunity. The guy is called Kayn, which is pretty close to the name Cain. In my opinion, it would have been great if they had chosen a changed version of the name Abel for the demon. Giving us a reference to Cain and Abel, the story of a guy killing his brother. Since one guy is overcoming the other in his gameplay, I think that would have been great.

Well, wouldn't that give Riot an uncreative look to the champion? Like it's a good way of referencing it but making the champion revolve around something seems a bit copyrighted to me.
