Great job Riot on Kai'Sa's visuals!
Riot's art teams rarely fail to impress, and this time is no exception. Kai'Sa's visuals are a great representation of her theme as someone who has tried to remain as human as possible while having to sacrifice some of herself to survive the void. I know her story is not yet released and we have sparse details, but I think a lot can be taken just from how well Riot makes their splashart. One think I noticed is that Kai'Sa is likely a homage to Kerrigan from Starcraft. Her suit reminds me of the hostile environment suit Kerrigan wears while comatose at the research station. But Kai'Ra's story goes in a different direction, because she had more choice in the matter of her appearance. She managed to keep her most defining features relatively human, particularly her face and hair. She doesn't look like a monster, and I think that is the goal of her appearance. But when you look closely, you can see that the void has seeped in farther than maybe anticipated. It makes me wonder if she's on the path of becoming a void creature that's trying to look human, forgetting the reason in the process.
