Why am I suddenly being matched with toxic players?

I've been climbing the ranked ladder the past few months, and it's been pretty fun for most of the journey. The first many games after placement were painful, but then it got pretty easy. What I mean by easy is that everyone in my team was being respectful and cooperative. But after I made it into Silver II, all of that went out the window. 6/7 of my last 7 games had at least one VERY toxic player. The kind that ints, flames, ignores requests, and actively tries to throw the game.

Why though? Why am I being matched with these players all the sudden? I am not toxic, I never flame my team, and I'm very supportive of good plays. Was I doing too good before I got into Silver II? Is this my punishment for that? Even if no one is talking to these toxic players, they just flame the whole time. Most of these games were winnable if that one player wasn't toxic. The constant repeat of toxic players after toxic players, so many games in a row is just sucking out my desire to play. I can't even climb anymore. I hate being trapped like this.
